CHAPTER NINE

Nysaa had finally made it to the bar, a dimly lit establishment with a rustic charm. The soft glow of pendant lights hung over the bar area, casting a warm hue that bathed the polished wooden counter in an inviting radiance. Old leather stools lined the bar, and a mirror-backed wall was adorned with various bottles of liquor, glistening in the subdued lighting.

She took a seat at the bar, leaning against the smooth wood. The bartender, a middle-aged man with a salt-and-pepper beard, looked her way, his eyes glinting with curiosity. The faint hum of conversation and clinking glasses filled the air, creating a comforting buzz of background noise.

"What can I get you?" the bartender asked, his tone a mix of professionalism and friendliness.

Nysaa's lips curled into a sardonic smile as she leaned in slightly closer to the bartender.

"I need something strong. Give me a double shot of whiskey, and leave the bottle."

He raised an eyebrow at her request, clearly impressed by her boldness.
