Chapter 46- Lost

Xenia's whole body jolted up the moment a bullet pierced through her skin. Flickering her eyes she touched her belly with trembling hands. She looked downwards at her hands which were covered with blood. Her eyes stung with tears.

She diverted her eyes at Ajax who was already staring back at her. Dropping the gun on the ground he collapsed on his knees. His eyes were fixed on her like he became a statue. There was no movement in him. He was way too stunned to react.

Xenia felt her legs wobbly. Giving him a sad smile she collapsed on the floor holding her belly. An ear-piercing heart-wrenching scream left Ajax's mouth. Crawling at her he scooped half of her in his arms. Looking at his frightened eyes she let out a weak smile.

" Don't leave me, please," Ajax requested sobbing.

Xenia's breath hitched. Somehow she raised one of her blood-covered hands and caressed his cheeks. He pressed his hand on her hand letting out a bitter cry.
