Chapter 4

"I don't know, I don't have a name." She says, I turn around and look at her. She looks back at me with no expression whatsoever.

I walk towards her. I'm completely surprised that she finally talked. Shehad a deeper voice than me, it sounded pleasant to my ears.

Then I remember what she said, she didn't have a name. She doesn't have a name?! How? Did her parents never give her a name?

She has left morequestions then she answered. My brain flows with more questions, I needed her to talk more. "What do you mean?" I ask her trying to sound calm but fail. She probably heard the confusion in my voice.

"I mean what I mean. I don't have a name." Her finger plays with the fur on the pillow, stroking it back and forth.

"What about your parents?"Ithensitdown besideherlookinginto her brownorbs withworry in my eyes.

"I never had any. Been alone my whole life." She says, Those words stab my heart. I immediately feel so bad for her, living her life alone, no one to depend on but herself. It must have been tough.

"I'm sorry." I put my hand on her shoulder and by doing that she flinches.

"Uh, it's ok." She slowly moves my hand off her shoulder with her own hand I could tell she was uncomfortable so I keep my hands to myself.

"May I ask, where do you live? I need to take you home when you heal."

"Um, I'd rather not say, Just let me leave."

"I can't just let you go so easily, I found you naked and dying in the forest. Do you think I can just let you roam?"

I hear her sigh. I know she was annoyed with me but I have to, for her safety.

She stands up, walking towards the frontdoor and grabbing the doorknob. I stand uptoo, "What are you doing?"

"I'm leaving."

"You can't!"

"What are you gonna do about it?"She opens the door and starts to walk outside. It was dark outside but I quickly run after her only wearing socks.

I see that she wasn't wearing anything on her feet, "Get back inside before you hurt your feet."

"Are you my mom now?" She says not even looking at me. I look down, I wanted to say something but my words we're stuck in my throat.

Just with the blink of an eye she starts to sprint into the forest I look up and run after her.

"Come back here!" I yell as I run. She was fast, speeding through all the sticks and stones on the ground not even showing any pain.

"Why are you treating me like a child?"She yells back at me as she runs.

"I'm not!" I was running out of breath, and she didn't even look tired. I felt the rocks hitting my feet as I stepped, hurting me, but I still ran.

"Then let me go!" She turns right through the trees trying to lose me but I followed her. I was angry at her for sure. She was ungreatful that I saved her life and she treats me with disrespect.

I was done with this girl, if she died I wouldn't care a single bit. This is what I get for trying to be nice to someone.

I continue to chase her, my breath getting heavy and my legs getting weaker. I let all my anger out by yelling at her.

"I wishI never found you and I wish you just died!" I yell and she slows down from a sprint to a jog to a walk then stands still. Her knees fall to the dirt ground and I finally catch up to her.

I was breathing heavily, I never run this fast for so long before. As I catch my breath I hear that girl say something softly,

"That's what everyone says about me, wished I never existed, never born. They said they'll be glad for the day I die, knowing I'm a nobody in society. I matter to no one. Sometimes I question if I should even be alive too ... " I looked at her, she was looking at the ground with no expression. I never knew that's what she felt,it's like all of her problems just poured out of her mouth all of the depression, all of the anger, just flooded the area around us.

I suddenly felt a million times worse, I shouldn't have said what I said before. It made sense, she doesn't have a name, doesn't have any parents, it was just her against the world.

Tears blur my vision as I hug the girl kneeling on the ground, notletting her go.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for what I said. I'm sorry for how you have been treated, for what all those people said. I'm sorry foreverything." I sniffle, trying not to get my tears and snot on her.

She didn't move a single bit, her head was still down and was kneeling on the ground. I understand her actions as Iwould have just stayed still after saying everything I've been hiding from the world.

There was silence, the stars in the night sky were shining. I hear an owl hooting in the distance, and the trees swaying softly from the breeze.

The sun wasrising, that is whenshefinallystood up.

"Let's go back home."

"To your home?"

"No," She pauses, "To your home." It was a surprise that she wanted to go back to my house, even calling it home

I nod softly. We both make our way backto the house.

I know I have to be different from everyone. I have to make sure this girl doesn't lose hope.
