THE WOODS

As Pamala dashed into the woods she howled into the night, the sight of the moon enraged her the most. She thrashed and rolled all over, using the nape of her neck to hit the trees in burning fury, She ran around in hope of exhausting herself and tiring her wolf, so as to reduce the gnawing feeling in her chest. She was relentless but it only made her more angry. Finally, she slowed down, slopping to the ground to whimper.

The sound revealed how much pain she was in, she wanted to die right that moment. The moon goddess had let this sacrilege happen. Just when she was happy that something good was finally happening in her life, it ended up being another silly dream. She always thought she was destined for better, maybe finding a mate would change her fate for good. Pamala thought going to that party would make things different, but she had been humiliated, rejected and hurt. She was physically and emotionally bruised. She wanted to scream, vent it out and even hurt herself.

The humiliation didn't hurt as much as the rejection, he didn't even spare her a glance he called her a fat, ugly girl. She always known she wasn't the ideal beauty standard but hearing it come from her own mate tore her into two. Didn't the moon goddess say mates were supposed to love you with everything they have, that they were your better half but she wasn't that lucky, he was utterly disgusted with her. Maybe she wasn't worthy of being loved.

The more she thought about it, the more it hurt. She whimpered more, the sound of heartbreak ringing through the woods. She lay her head on the grass, her eyes dull and without life. She watched the moon in as it shun across the woods. She once loved the

Moon but the sight of it now made her want to run mad in anger, it was cursed. All the tales she heard about it were false, it was nothing but a stupid orbit illuminating light.

Distant growls interrupted her thoughts, her ears stood at the sound, she could sniff the foul smell. The growls drawing near, they were rogue wolves. She had stumbled upon rogues, they would tear her apart and feast on her. She was an ordinary omega, the weakest of her kind, even her wolf was smaller than the others. Maybe this was the end that was destined for her. There was no such thing as happily ever after in her life.

Two rogues came into view, the stench from them was unbearable, the flies and blood made them more disgusting. The way they looked at her with crazed filled eyes told her they had no plans of letting her go alive. The thought of dying didn't hurt but dying by the hands of rogues would be the most painful exit.

A fight rose in her, she wouldn't die without fighting for her life. They won't kill her that easily. She stood up on all four limbs , she growled, her teeth all bared out. She was warning them to keep off. they kept drawing close, one of the wolf dived at her, She dodged, he landed screechingly, annoyed that he had missed, he turned to look at her as she was trying to back away.

The second one quickly cornered her, he lounged again, this time she couldn't dodge as the second wolf took position, the first wolf hit her hard and they came stumbling. The wolf ended up on her, Trying to rip her open with its teeth. She barked, struggling to push his weight off. They thrashed against themselves, with everything in her she pushed him off, quickly standing to run.

The second wolf chased her, catching her  instantly, he grabbed her tail in his mouth flung her to the tree. She hit it with so much force air left her lungs, her breaths coming out ragged and harsh. She tried to stand but she couldn't.  The wolves came again circling  her like predators and she a prey. Pamala felt useless, she was nothing but a weak good for nothing omega, she couldn't even put up a fight.

The first wolf went for the kill, his teeth digging into her neck, she howled in pains writhing against him, the pains of his fangs buried in her caused severe pain, she was bleeding and losing consciousness. This was the end she would accept her fate.

Through blurred vision she saw a very large grey wolf stalk through the trees and dived at the wolf on her, knocking him over. The two rogue wolves in agitation rushed to attack him. He growled threateningly, when they didn't retreat, he sped to one, they clashed together, he used his claws to dig through the wolf tearing through him, until there was nothing but chunks of flesh. Before the second wolf could run, in a speed she's never seen before he got to the wolf, diving to get hold of his neck, they struggled together, he succeeded in killing the wolf. Blood dripping through his fur, his teeth red and angry. He walked back to her, his aura was impressive. She could tell he was a very high ranked wolf, she cowered before him.

He got to her and sniffed her fur, she was still and very much afraid. He began to lick her wounds, especially the ones on her neck where the rogue almost butchered her.

While it stung it was soothing, she whimpered a little, he snuggled his face on her fur  buried in her scent, she was lost in his display of warmth, temporary forgetting the pain of the rejection and her injuries. The sounds of approaching Footsteps alarmed him, he backed away from her, his eyes scrutinizing their surrounding to ensure it is safe.

"Pamala! Pamala!" The voice of her worried father rang through the woods. She started howling to let him find her.

The grey wolf seemed to let his guard down a bit seeing her response to the voices, he looked at her for a while  then he dashed into the cold night. She was lost and confused, he hadn't smelt like someone from blue lake pack.

"Oh my goodness!" Jade cried seeing the dead, butchered rogue wolves on the ground. Her father and mother came into view. Fear radiating off them as they tried to locate her. She howled again and jade pointed the torchlight on her wolf.

"Pam, my child." Her mother cried rushing to her.

"She's wounded! We have to take her to the packs healer immediately." Her father panicked, he inspected the wounds on her body in fear.

"She killed rogues. Two rogues. Pamala can you shift back?" Jade asked.

She growled a bit in response, trying to calm herself down she began to shapeshift, morphing back into human. Her father removed his jacket to wrap her in, she broke into a sob.
