CHAPTER 6.

Martinez's POV.

I was completely shocked by her damaging and hurtful words, I knew that people mocked me behind my back and said atrocious things, but her words were too much to swallow.

She looked as if she realized that she had gone far with her words, but nothing could be rectified now.

It was a painful blow to my ego. I was an acting Alpha and didn't have the throne yet, but even though I wasn't regarded as the Alpha of this pack, I still deserved respect. Pain filled my eyes, the loss of my father made bitterness swim into my gut.

I had always hidden this pain I felt from everyone in the pack, but she was making me feel sudden emotions I had thought were buried a long time ago.

But I wasn't one to be easily trampled upon, I would not let her find any weakness in me, I quickly masked my hurt expression with anger.
