Sofia was stunned by what he said, she looked at him and it made her lose focus.

Martinez's eyes were still widened as he released her hand and the lantern fell from his other hand.

He lost the connection with her magic and couldn't see anything again.

“Mother” Martinez panicked, tears were stinging his eyes as he tried to think about whom he just saw.

It was like an imagination to him, or maybe a kind of illusion that was made to deceive him. His mother had lost her mind, she left and never returned.

“I thought your mother was dead or rather missing, …this means…” Sofía trailed off in shock as it dawned on her that his mother was never missing.
