“Amuletum dicimus contradixerit tibi adduc velatos te et domum tuam. Tu nos iubes?” The Witches started chanting. I was impatiently waiting, but nothing seemed to be happening.

They continued chanting and a green light appeared above them for a split second and then it was gone. But it sent an energy blast that flung books off the shelves in my library. It also knocked the three Witches back, breaking the circle and stopping the chanting.

Katrina looked up at me from the floor. “I’m sorry, Rowen. It didn’t work. The amulet isn’t reachable by magic.” She said. I sighed out loud. “What do we do now?” I asked, eager to get any reply that would bring Ambrosia home.

“I-I don’t know… Wait!” Katrina cried. My eyes shot up to Katrina, waiting for her to talk. “Give me something sharp, I need to cut myself.” She said, holding her hand out. I raised an eyebrow at her, but did as she asked and snapped to produce a very sharp but dainty knife, and handed it to her.
