Chapter 9: DRAGONS

"Next time, don't break my orders again." He said, in a stern voice.

"Yes, Your Majesty." I nodded.

"Everett." He corrected it."Everett," I repeated in a low voice.

"You want to ride him?" he said with a gentle voice while caressing Pendragon.

This man confused me. Just now, acting strictly towards me and now acting gently towards me.

"Yes," I replied.

He carried me and jumped up on the back of Pendragon's body.

Everett sat behind me and hugged me from behind while holding the rope tied around Pendragon's neck. I felt my heart thumping fast suddenly, probably because I felt nervous about flying for the first time.

"Are you alright, why is your heart thumping so fast?" He said, bringing his face closer to my ear.

My heart was thumping faster, and I felt my whole body heat.

"I’m fine," I said, in a less certain tone.

"Fly, Pendragon." He said, giving order to him.

Pendragon spreads its wings and flutters them. I felt happy and scared at the same time.

I looked down, and I was shocked. The environment below is clear. I could see the castle and the trees. The realm of Black Mist is indeed unique.

"I think he likes you." He said.

"Who?" I asked because I wasn't sure who he meant.

"Pendragon," he answered.

"How do you know he likes me?" I asked in a curious tone.

"He allowed no one to touch him except me," he said.

It shocked me to hear him. I thought Pendragon was friendly to all.

"Thank you Pendragon for allowing me to touch you. These dragons, what are they used for?" I am asking.

"They'll be on the ride while at war. Mages can fly using brooms, but vampires can't fly, so to facilitate war, we use dragons."

"When was the last war between mages and vampires?" She asked.

"Before you come here, war will happen soon." He sighed.

Hearing he sighed, I asked,

"Don't you like this war?"

"I don't like it. I hope this war will end. But that's impossible because mages want to avoid making peace, and some vampires don't trust mages either."

Suddenly, I felt something in the back of my body. He put his head on my back. I could feel that he was burdened. But I don't know what it is. Maybe it's because of the war going on.

"What will happen to me after this?" She asking.

He lifted his head from my back.

He just kept quiet.

"Are you going to kill me?" She asked repeatedly.

"I'm not sure." He replied.

"Why?" She said.

"Enough, don't ask again." He said.

I turned my head abruptly in dissatisfaction, but our faces became too close, and our lips almost touched.

He stared at my lips and glanced into my eyes, and we were eye to the eye.

Seeing his bluish eyes made my heart beat fast. Aware of my behavior, I looked in front.

He cleared his throat and said, "Let's go back to the castle."

She nodded.

Arriving at the castle, he carried her in his arms and dropped her off. They entered the castle together.
