Chapter 3. Missing Luna

Eva did not want to go home after the horrible night she had. She knew that her dad sold her to a bad man who molested her innocently. Now she has so many bruises and marks all over her body. She took a cab to go to her best friend’s flat, Emilia, in the east end of downtown.

“I will take the money from my friend. Would you like to wait a while?” Eva asked the cab driver for some spare time to wait because she had no money with her.

“Sure, Miss.” Eva nodded with bruised lips. She crossed the front yard and then knocked on the door.

“Emmy, are you home?” Eva was knocking on the door with her blurry eyes ready to burst. For some seconds, Eva stayed outside in her miserable state until Emma opened the door.

“Eva? Oh my god, what happened to you?” Emilia was shocked by Eva's appearance in front of her door. Eva burst into tears and held Emilia tightly, “Help me! Please help me.” Eva mumbled through Emilia’s shoulder.

“Okay, let’s talk inside. Eva then let go of the hug with her innocent doe eyes and looked for help.

“I haven’t paid for the cab yet. Can I borrow some money from you?”

“Of course. Let me pay for your cab. You come in and sit inside, okay?” Eva nodded and let her friend deal with the cab driver before walking back to see her. Emilia half-ran to see Eva, who sat on her couch sobbing so hard. She came and held her so tight. She caressed her arm while consoling Eva.

“What happened to you, my dear? Is someone robbing you?” Eva shook her head, then let go of her grasp. Emilia stared worriedly at Eva’s condition. She put some of her hair behind her ear while waiting for an answer.

“Someone did something bad to me last night. I don’t know who that man was, but this morning I woke up naked on the bed."

“What! Oh, my goodness!” Emilia palmed her mouth with both of her hands due to the shocks. Eva sobbed for more. She is ashamed of her condition now. It made Emilia feel remorse, so she held Eva for more. Eva took her time in Emilia’s embrace for quite some time until she calmed down. For almost 20 minutes, Eva sobbed with so many tissues on her lap.

“Oh, Eva. Is that man hurting you? Why do you have so many bruises like this?” asked Emilia after a few minutes.

“I don’t know. I was blacked out."

“How? Were you drugged? Eva nodded while lowering her head. Emilia’s heart is crushing for more. She never thought that Eva had had such a bad incident recently.

“Who did that?” Emilia asked for more. “My Dad.” Emilia was stunned and disbelieved in what she heard. It was unimaginable that a father could do such a disgusting thing to his daughter.

“Wha─”

“He sells me to the devil,” Eva replied spontaneously.

“Who?” Emilia scrunched her forehead because she never knew the name.

“It is his name, the Devil. My dad calls him Mr. Xander. I don’t know his first name.” Eva repeated it once more. Emilia just nodded, then caressed more of Eva’s back.

“Therefore, I have to go. I have to leave this city,” said Eva, making her decision. Emilia shook her head immediately.

“No! The first thing that you must do is report to the police. That man and your dad must be responsible for their crimes!” said Emilia enthusiastically. Eva shook her head with a worried look. She did not want to deal with the law.

“No, I can’t do that!”

“Why not? Don’t tell me that you’re going to excuse them.” Emilia half-yelled to Eva with her upset expression.

“He’s my father, Emmy.” Emilia hissed annoyingly and kept persuading Eva to call the police.

“You cannot just run and let them go, Eva. The man must rot in jail!” Emilia persisted.

“But he must be a very powerful man. There’s nothing I can do against him. Otherwise, my dad won’t sell me to him, right?” Emilia thought for a second. Her spirit is getting lower, as are her shoulders. Eva was darting down disappointedly.

“Then, what are you going to do next?” Emilia asked with a low, soft tone to Eva. Eva sighed in a long, tiring huff.

“I want to leave this city and never look back. Would you come with me, Emmy?” I have no one in my family anymore. Emilia smiled broadly at Eva, then nodded.

“Of course. You are my best friend. I will always be on your side. Now, let’s treat your bruises and wounds, okay?” Eva smiled faintly, then nodded. Emilia held Eva’s left hand while darting down. She frowned, then pulled back to see her wrist.

“What is this? Is this a wound or a tattoo?” Emilia wondered. Eva glanced down to see her wrist, and there was a pink mark of a crescent moon.

“What is this? I never had a tattoo.” Eva murmured while caressing the scar.

“Maybe it will disappear if I put some ointment on it. Let’s get to my bedroom.” Eva nodded agreeably. They both walked to Emilia’s bedroom to take care of Eva’s bruise.

Meanwhile, Gabriel furiously destroyed everything inside his presidential suite because he could not find Eva. All the bridal staff were running away, scared for their lives. It made Cheyne and some of the Gamma wolves come to see a frustrated Gabriel.

“Alpha, please calm down!” Cheyne yelled to Gabriel, who almost turned into a majestic wolf. Gabriel was so angry that he could destroy the whole hotel and scare more human guests. His loud breath from his beast mode was obviously apparent.

Gabriel gasped, then formed back into his human body. He tore off half of his suit while gasping for oxygen to calm himself, “Where is she?" Gabriel growled with crimson-red eyes at Cheyne.

Cheyne calmly walked to Gabriel to give the unfortunate news: “I’m sorry, Alpha. We can’t find her. But all the lambdas have gone hunting for her.” Cheyne said, giving out his reason.

Gabriel yelled in a growl, “Hunting? Is she disappearing?” He enlarges his eyes due to the situation. Cheyne was keeping his gaze on Gabriel. He knew how to handle his Alpha.

“I swear, I will find her soon.”

“There will be no time, Cheyne. The pack will say that I lied to them.”

“It can’t be. The Moon Goddess has given the mark on her. And I’m the witness. This wedding is only going to be delayed for a few hours. Trust me!” Cheyne kept convincing Gabriel about Luna.

“I want all of you to search for her now and not ever hurt her. She’s my queen and a delicate human being!” Gabriel leashed out his order to all Gamma Wolves under Cheyne. Cheyne turned his gaze and gave a small nod. “

Yes, Alpha. We’ll find the queen!” said all the Gammas. They left the room, leaving Gabriel and Cheyne.

“Just give us some time, Alpha,” Cheyne added.

“Find Michael now!” Gabriel ordered it coldly.

“Yes, Alpha.” Gabriel turned to walk into his walk-in closet. Cheyne still stood there for some seconds, then grabbed his phone to call Ethan, one of the Zetas in their pack. Ethan Stevenson is also the CEO of Xander Enterprise and is going to provide financial aid to Michael’s company due to his Alpha’s command.

“Ethan, has Michael Alexander arrived yet?”

“He is on his way, Beta.” Ethan answered shortly.

“Good. Find a time to stall him. Alpha Xander wants to ask a few things,” replied Cheyne, giving out his order.

“Yes, Beta. When will Alpha Xander come?”

“About an hour. Just stay in the room.” Cheyne took a deep breath and then annoyedly cut the call.

“This is going to be a long day for me. Oh, where are you, Luna?” Cheyne murmured while leaving the room.
