Chapter 17

I could see the sunlight filling the room even through my closed eyelids. I had no desire to wake up, but daylight was reminding me that the day was waiting. Slowly, I opened my eyes and took in my environment. It was a second before I remembered where I was and finally why. Remembering Kent’s warmth, I looked beside me. The place that had once held his body lay empty and I felt a small sinking in my heart. As much as I tried to deny it, I missed him and wanted him to be here.

Grudgingly, I got up from the bed and walked to the dresser Kent had rummaged through to get pjs for me. I opened every drawer finding a lot of jeans and t-shirts that all appeared to be in my size. I found  one whole drawer full of undergarments. Most of the underwear was basic boy shorts but a few were lacey little things that brought a small blush to my face. I never bought my self anything like that knowing I had no one to wear it for. Now the idea of wearing these delicate materials in front of Ke
