Chapter 2 Interesting

Wesley parked his car in front of the Kefenza Hotel, located in the bustling area of Appletown. He glanced at the rows of parked vehicles and muttered, "Can't believe so many people turned up for this."

"Well, it wouldn't be any fun with fewer people," Gwyneth replied. She slowly opened her eyes, gently twisted her neck, and got out of the car.

The hotel's banquet hall was already packed with people, each wearing a different expression. Although she was the main character of the acquisition meeting, Gwyneth was the last to arrive.

After changing her clothes in the hotel restroom, Gwyneth walked slowly into the banquet hall. Her long dress extended down to her calves, perfectly highlighting her figure. She didn't do much to style her long hair, letting it fall freely on her shoulders. She always had a smile on her lips, making her seem less cold but still noticeably aloof.

Meanwhile, Liam Luther of Luther Corporation, another prominent figure at the banquet, was socializing with other CEOs. When he heard murmurs of surprise from around him, he frowned and followed the source of the sound. His gaze soon became fixated on Gwyneth, and he couldn't look away.

Liam thought to himself, 'Is this lady Gwyneth, my just-divorced wife?' Despite the noticeable change in her appearance and figure, Liam was certain that this was Gwyneth. What was even more striking to him was her changed temperament.

Throughout their three-year marriage, he had never seen her lift her head, but now she was slightly lifting her chin. It was a posture that exuded confidence from the bottom of her heart.

'So, this woman was just disguising herself by making herself unattractive and hiding her personality? Is this her true self?' Liam raised his eyebrows and a playful smile appeared on his lips. 'Interesting.'

As Liam observed her, Gwyneth slowly made her way to the center of the banquet. She picked up a champagne glass from a passing waiter's tray, moving with elegance and nobility in every step.

"Oh, look who it is. My long-lost sister," said Judy Glen, appearing behind Gwyneth just as she was about to take a sip of champagne. Gwyneth's smile grew wider as she turned around to see Judy standing there with a fake smile.

"It has been a while," Gwyneth replied, her smile still intact as she took a step closer toward Judy.

Gwyneth inwardly sneered at her stepsister, who had bullied and framed her in various ways over the years, despite sharing the same father. 'Well, her luck is about to run out,' she thought.

As people noticed the Glen sisters standing there, they couldn't help but start gossiping about them. When Gwyneth wasn't around, Judy was always the center of attention. She was attractive, sociable, and capable, and could handle anything. However, when Gwyneth appeared, Judy's spotlight was instantly dimmed to the point of being insignificant.

Judy, of course, noticed the change in people's attitudes and looks toward her. She gritted her teeth and forced a smile. She had just learned that Gwyneth had divorced Liam, and she was ecstatic. She had planned to use this opportunity at the banquet to get closer to Liam, but she didn't expect Gwyneth to show up too.

"Sis, I have to say I was surprised to see you here today. After all, you've already divorced Mr. Luther, haven't you?" Judy said, trying to hide her excitement.
