Chapter 9 Is Mrs. Luther Feeling Shy?

Without giving Liam a chance to speak, Gwyneth turned around and left for the Luther residence. When she left the mansion that morning, she was too excited and had forgotten to double-check her belongings. So, she was afraid she missed a few of her items.

The butler was glad that Gwyneth was back. But happiness turned into disappointment when he learned she was there to pack her things. "Young Madam, is there no way that you and Mr. Luther..."

"Don't say anything, Edward." Gwyneth smiled at Edward and went upstairs to find her room, which was a guest room. She had lived in this mansion for three years; to say she was not sad was impossible. However, she knew that those emotions would subside over time.

Gwyneth was in the middle of gathering her items when a familiar voice sounded behind her. "Where do you think you're going?"

Annoyed, Gwyneth rolled her eyes and turned to see Liam leaning on the door frame with his arms crossed. "My, my. What do we have here? Mr. Luther, who practically sleeps at the office, is here with us?"

Liam ignored the woman's cold and sarcastic remark and continued, "We're still married as of right now, so you can't move out."

Gwyneth thought that she had misheard him for a moment. 'We haven't seen each other for one day, and now he's made a 180°?'

"As you can see, the bed sheets in this guest room have been removed. So you'll have to sleep in the master bedroom tonight."

Seeing Liam's indifference, Gwyneth snorted and tossed the things she was holding onto the mattress. 'I've endured three years with this man; what's three months more?' She thought.

However, when the night came, Gwyneth began to regret her choice when she lay in bed and watched Liam come out of the bathroom. His hair was still dripping with water. Gwyneth's eyes moved from his face to his muscles and slowly to the towel around his waist.

"P-Put some clothes on."

Liam was drying his hair at the time. Hearing this, he stopped and looked down, following Gwyneth's gaze. He lowered his head slightly under the dim light and smirked. "Is Mrs. Luther feeling shy?"

Gwyneth immediately sat up from the bed when she heard the title "Mrs. Luther." She opened her mouth, but nothing came out; she was in shock. "L-Liam, you..." The words were stuck in her throat. She could feel her cheeks getting hotter as she watched the man stroll to the side of the bed.

"What, Mrs. Luther?" Liam propped himself up with two hands on the bed and put his face close to Gwyneth's. They were so close that they could see their own reflection in each other's eyes.

Gwyneth froze for a while. She then laid back in bed and pulled the covers over herself. That night, she fell asleep to Liam's breathing, forgetting that she could have simply left.

The next day, she woke up from the heat of Liam holding her in his arms. Her mind was in a blurry state then. But after a short pause, she pushed the man off the bed, not caring whether he was still asleep.

When Gwyneth saw that Liam was awake, she snorted coldly with an angry look and went downstairs to make breakfast.
