Kynessie is sleeping peacefully beside me. I am more than aware I am being a creeper, but when Riordan linked Dad and me and told us that Esus had taken control of Kyran and was challenging my little darkling, I lost my shit. I imagined the worst, and I could only stop and stare when I arrived on the scene. Kynessie was holding Esus back using the shadows while he was using all his strength to get free. I knew something was wrong with Esus when he looked at me, and his eyes looked glazed over, but that didn’t matter then. All I could focus on was my mate standing with her glowing reddish-purple eyes and darkness around her. Seeing her like that scared the shit out of me but also turned me on at the same time. I know that is weird, but it is what it is. I had no choice but to use my alpha voice and order Esus to give Kyran back control. Thankfully that worked, and things calmed the hell down.
