Chapter 4

It won't get much better than this, I said to my mirror. My face was little and in the shape of a love heart, with big, round eyes and small features. I detested those darn freckles, which covered almost every inch of my face. The freckles were still noticeable even on my dark Latin skin. Although in a twelve-year-old way, I was cute.

Roland commanded me to "hurry the fuck up."

My father yelled out at him, "Watch your language, Ro." I rolled my eyes and turned away from my mirror before leaving the room. I strolled alongside my family to the Alpha's home, lagging a little behind while they talked. My dad yelled at me, "Mabella, keep going."

When my parents and I got to the Alpha's house, Alpha Parker invited them to join him in his office for a drink with Alpha Ethan and his Beta. Why don't you go hang out with Caleb, my mum said, "Darling." I rolled my eyes because I didn't like that she was still trying to persuade herself that I would be Caleb's mate.

I rolled my eyes when they went into the study and left me alone. Caleb called out as he descended the stairs, "Hey Mabella."

I corrected him, "My name is May." I followed him grudgingly as he entered the lounge after giving me a nod. There were three unknown wolves inside. Caleb sat down in the living room and grinned at them. It was clear that the three men belonged to the Equinox Pack.

One of them smiled at me and said, "Hey kid, is this your girlfriend?"

I laughed, "No.

May is the daughter of the Beta, Caleb said. However, I think we'll get along. We'll see when we Shift, he said with a shrug.

I mumbled under my breath, "Unlikely, dick."

"What?" By Caleb.

I was able to say, "I want a drink," and as soon as they heard me, I observed the three men grinning. "Let me get a drink," you say. I went into the kitchen as I turned away from Caleb and the three unidentified Wolves.

I looked out the window from where I was standing in the kitchen. A man was on his phone on the porch outside. There aren't enough words to express how wonderful he was. He had dark hair, blue eyes, and was tall. His black t-shirt was too small for his broad arms, and his blue pants hung low on his lips. He had muscles all over his body and was bigger than most males. I muttered, "Wow."

I had never had a crush before, but I did at that very moment.

Behind me, someone said, "That's Seth." I yelled in disbelief as I whirled around, veering away from the attractive man and toward one of the unidentified Wolves.

"I...um...what?" I enquired while turning as red as a tomato. The Wolf laughed at me while smirking. His ash-colored hair was tucked back into a little bun at the back of his head, highlighting his golden skin. He was handsome, but nothing in comparison to the man outside.

He mocked, "I mentioned that Seth is the name of the guy you were eye raping. He is my Alpha.

Alpha Ethan, is it you? Shockingly, I questioned.

He laughed and said, "Yep, that's him. He was gone when I turned to look out the window again. Once more, the unnamed Wolf chuckled at me. "He's getting on your age, kid," He made a mess of my hair, which made me glare at him, then he opened the refrigerator and looked inside. You desire a coke.

"Sure," I mumbled. Before kicking the refrigerator shut, he withdrew a second can and gave it to me. Which is your name?

I'm the third in command, Dean," he grinned.

I mumbled, "Cool.

Despite the fact that I didn't want to be sarcastic, he smirked at me and asked, "You don't really find that cool do you?"

I replied directly, "No, I really don't give a shit." He chuckled haltingly at me.

Dean smirked at me and said, "I dig that you use bad language, kid." Before ignoring him, I simply gave him a glance. He accompanied me back into the living room, where I took a seat next to Caleb. Right, kid, these are Jenson and Ollie," Dean said, introducing me to the other Wolves: Ollie, a dark-skinned man with excellent looks, and Jenson, a blonde with great eyes. Quite beautiful, yet not as attractive as his Alpha.

This is May, guys. She's a feisty young girl who has feelings for Seth.

I snarled at Dean, blushing and the others laughing at me, "I do not have 'a thing' for your Alpha."

He wondered, "So why else were you staring at him like a stalker?" Though I was ashamed, I succumbed to his bait despite knowing he was trying to get a rise out of me.

I snarled back, telling a plain falsehood, "Because I observed a strange Wolf in my territory and I was curious who he was.

Dean said mockingly, "Sure.

Caleb said, "Mabella," and I rolled my eyes.

Through gritted teeth, I corrected him, "May." "My name is May," you idiot. Ollie and Jenson lifted their eyebrows in surprise at my vulgarity, but Dean simply laughed amusedly.

Your name is Mabella, Caleb countered, "you just prefer to go by May."

I rolled my eyes and said, "Caleb, stop talking." There was simply something about the fourteen-year-old future Alpha that irritated me so badly. I wasn't sure why.

A well-known voice yelled, "Mabella." My father yelled, "I will not put up with that language. I rolled my eyes at him while facing the other way, then I quietly grinned at him.

I only murmured, "I'm sorry, Dad." When I saw that my parents had entered the room with the others, I stood up and so did everyone else. Two more unidentified Wolves were present, although I did recognize one of them because I had seen him outside.

Even more powerful and imposing in person, Alpha Levi Ethan was. Before focusing on me, his brilliant blue eyes scanned the space. He spotted me looking at him, and I slightly flushed. He didn't immediately turn his head, though; instead, I later realized that he was probably checking me out.

Alpha Ethan cut off Alpha Parker's attempt to speak when he opened his mouth. He looked at me, and a snarl broke through the room. He abruptly said, "Mate," to the horror of everyone in the room.
