Heartbroken

Hannah quietly made her way into her boyfriend's apartment using the spare key she has, she was bubbling with so much excitement that she might just explode anytime soon, the day she's been waiting for is finally here, her boyfriend's birthday and a day to shower him with so much love.

She quietly kept her bag on the couch and then took the cake she's bought out of its pack, there's so many surprise she's planned out for him, but this is her favorite part, going to surprise him in his bedroom with a cake. Jason wasn't the type to get up early from bed, so she was a 100% sure that he was still in bed.

She neatly arranged the birthday candles on the cake and then light it up before making her way upstairs to his bedroom.

When she got there, she waited a few seconds outside to catch her breath, after calming her beating heart, she slowly opened the door and walked in.

But what she saw next shattered her completely.

Jason was making out with another woman in bed!

She was too stunned to speak and the cake she was holding slowly dropped from her hand and down to the floor with a smashing sound which attracted Jason and the woman he was with.

On seeing Hannah, Jason's eyes widen with shock and he instantly got off the lady, giving Hannah the chance to get a clear view of the lady's face.

Hannah's jaw dropped in shock when she saw her best friend. "You!" She said in shock.

Carly's face didn't hold any feeling of remorse or whatsoever, in fact, the only thing her face held was anger, she was angry that Hannah had ruined the moment for she and Jason.

"Hannah." Jason called.

"How could you? How could the both of you do this to me?!" She questioned, looking at the both of them. Words couldn't explain the amount of pain she felt at the moment, these were the people she loved and trusted with her own life, people she's willing to sacrifice so much for, but this same people has betrayed her.

"Don't even try to play the victim here Hannah." Carly spat. "You just ruined the moment for us and I'm not happy with that, so just get lost!" She added.

"What?" Hannah muttered in disbelief. "No, this can't be happening, this can't be happening." She cried.

"I'm really sorry Hannah, I was going to come clean and tell you the whole truth but I couldn't find the perfect time." Jason said.

Uncontrollable tears rolled down her cheeks as she stared at the both of them, none of what they were saying makes any sense to her and it became clear to her that she's been the fool all along. She was a fool for trusting and believing them, she did see the signs, but she never paid any attention to it since she was blinded by Jason's fake love and Carly's fake friendship.

This all feels like one bad dream to her and everything will be fine once she wakes up, but her whole being knows that this was no dream, this is reality and nothing's going to change.

Carly then got down from the bed and after giving Hannah a victorious smirk, she pulled Jason closer to her and kissed him passionately, as if to confirm to Hannah that all this is truly happening.

Hannah wanted to rush to her and tear her off him, but her body failed to move and all she could do was watch.

Her world came crashing down as she watched them make out right in front of her.

"No, please stop it, that's enough." She mentally screamed.

She and Jason have been dating for a year now, in fact they recently just celebrated their 1 year anniversary and she's always thought they both had a future together, but no, all that was a lie and the truth broke her heart completely.

She's come here today in her best outfit and wanted to surprise him, but she ended up getting surprised herself.

Her heart ached as she watched them and when she couldn't take it anymore, she voiced out in rage.

"Stop it already!!" She seethed.

"And why should we stop the fun because of a nobody like you." Carly mocked.

Driven by rage, she rushed to Carly and landed two hot slaps on her face.

"Hannah!!" Jason yelled as he roughly pushed her away, had she not maintained her balance, she would have fallen.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" He fumed.

''How dare you?'' He snarled, but she stood unmoved.

''Are you this shameless? How could you do this to me? How could the both of you?!'' She yelled. ''I trusted both of you. You were like the only family I have, but you dare betray me like this?''

“Shut up, Hannah. Just shut the fuck up!'' Jason yelled. ''Did you think I loved you huh? You were just a naive girl, who fell in love easily. You were so stupid and gullible, and that is why I've been able to use you until now…'' He paused as hot tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I never loved you. I was only using you, I should have dumped you a lot sooner but then, where's the fun in that.'' He smirked.

"You're too naive and stupid, you're too gullible and easily fall for people's tricks. What kind of a man would want a lady like you who has no sense of reasoning and is super foolish. You mean nothing to me and none of what we shared was ever real. Yes! I only wanted to use you and dump you and that's it!!"

"Y...Y.." Hannah didn't even know what to say. The pain in her heart was indescribable, she thought he loved her, she had pictured a perfect future with him, but now, the real truth about what he thinks of her has finally been revealed.

"So glad you can finally see the truth for yourself. At least I won't have to prentend to like you anymore." Carly added.

Hannah looked at her with tear filled eyes.

"Yes Hannah, I only got close to you because of Jason and nothing else, I fell in love with Jason the day I bumped into you two at the mall and so, I had to befriend you to get to him." She smiled, staring lovingly at Jason. "I mean, you're not even in my caliber, you're just a poor worthless lady who disgusts me because you reek of poverty. So yes, you can say I was only tolerating being friends with you to get what I want, but in reality you disgust me and I'm happy to finally get rid of you."

"I wonder what made Jason waste a whole year with you. Gosh!"

Hannah clutched to her chest, breathing heavily as more tears rolled down her cheeks.

"You two betrayed me." She managed to say admist tears.

Jason scoffed loudly. "I hate you Hannah and nothing about you entice me in the least!" He spat.

"You're a monster Jason! An animal, that's what you are. You made me waste a whole year of my life with you, you deceived me and used me and you say you never loved me. How is it so easy for you two to do this to another human without feeling any remorse? How is it so easy for you two to stab someone else in the back?! Just how!" She screamed.

Jason laughed and before he could say anything else, Hannah cut him off with two tight slaps.

"What the hell is wrong with you Hannah." Carly screamed. "Stop throwing a tantrum and get your worthless piece of trash self out of here because if you dare try to raise your hand on anyone else again then I'll be getting you thrown in jail for a really long time." Carly threatened.

Hannah shook her head. "You, you Carly. You were more than a friend to me. I took you as my own sister and you dare to do this to me?"

"I don't like you Hannah, I never did, so please quit the whole silly talks and get out. You did interrupt something and we'll like to continue."

"You're just to naive and stupid Hannah, you always fail to see the truth that's clear in front of you and your goody goody self is sure to get you in trouble one day. The world doesn't need weak people like you." Carly spat.

"Carly!" Hannah snapped.

"Just get your fucking self out Hannah and never return. The sight of you disgusts me and I can't put up with you anymore!" Jason barked.

"Ja..Ja.."

"Get out!" Carly snapped.

Hannah shook her head. "I pray you two regret your actions bitterly and you two pay for your betrayal!"

"Get out!" Jason repeated, pointing at the door.

"And take this with you." Carly chimed in as she bent to take a handful of the cake that fell off Hannah's hand and then she threw it at Hannah.

"That's the trash you brought with you." She smirked.

Hannah couldn't take the embarrassment anymore and so she ran out of there as fast as she could.

Betrayal truly hurts more when it's from someone unexpected and someone you love.
