Chapter Forty

~FLASHBACK~

I watched the butterfly flap its beautiful wings across the sky, it landed directly on my nose.

Valerie and I were outside gazing at the sky, pointing at the animal shaped clouds.

We had been playing with the pack children but soon enough I didn't want to play anymore.

"Valerie and Vanessa, it's time for lunch!" Mom shouted.

I got up at the sound of Mom saying lunch, my stomach had been coaxing me to go inside.

However, Valerie still lied down on the green grass, her eyes focused on the sky intently.

"Come on Val, its lunch time" My 7 year old self squeaked to my sister.

I nudged at her, and when she still hadn't I pushed her over making her roll onto her face.

"I'm coming,Van" She groaned as she pulled herself up off the grass.

She grabbed onto my small hand and carried me inside, at the pace she was moving my shoe had slipped off my foot.

I tugged my hand out of hers and went back for it, I saw a man in the distance watching the house.
