Chapter Three

Entering the castle was not as hard as I thought it would be, upon our entry, I realized we were on the Red Velvet Coven lands.

Humans had always been dumb when it came to the supernaturals, and they did not seem to believe in things like that, that was why they call the place ‘castle’.

I don't blame them though, we supernaturals have always been tight on keeping our secrets because not all humans are as open-minded as we would like them to be.

As it would seem, my guise worked, because no one questioned my intention as I roamed through the castle trying to figure out a way to my mate.

It was not an easy task, between keeping up with my guise and actually doing the work I registered for and doing what I wanted for myself.

We were told to beautify the castle’s largest hall for the Lady’s engagement that night.

I was overjoyed that they were not getting married right away, that meant I still had a chance.

Before I knew it, I was asked to bring some flowers to the Lady’s room, excitement coursed through my body at the thought of seeing her beautiful face again.

I accepted the task immediately, I carried the flowers to the halls and asked for directions to the Lady’s room, it wasn’t long before my nose caught a whiff of her amazing scent and I followed it blindly, trusting my instincts.

I stood in front of her room to collect myself and prepare my mind for what to say to her.

“Knock Knock”, I knocked on her door thrice and said “Flower delivery for my lady”, I could hear giggles inside, signifying that she wasn’t alone.

I was sincerely hoping she would be alone so that we would be able to talk without barriers.

“Coming”, a voice that was not my mate, sounded before the door opened slightly.

The lady that answered peeked through the door to check the number of flowers, and when she saw she couldn’t carry it, she opened the door wide for me to enter with the flowers.

I was happy that I got to enter.

The giggles died down when I entered the room, all eyes were on me, all eyes except my mates.

She was looking in the mirror when she caught the sight of my face in the mirror, she gasped silently, I almost didn’t catch it, if not for my super hearing.

“I would like to be alone now, Ladies”, she spoke elegantly and authoritatively, leaving no room for argument.

The ladies present bowed to her and left. It would seem she was a very important person in the coven.

“What are you doing here?” she asked with so much hostility in her voice that made me sad.

“I came for you, my love”, I said, slipping with the pet name. I cringed at the frown that graced her face when I said that.

She laughed, it wasn’t her normal beautiful laugh, the laughter was full of anger, probably disgust, I couldn’t understand her emotions.

“Your love? I am not your love, if I were your love, where were you for a long time?, you left me, was it because I was playing with you at first?

You don’t get to come here and play hero when you were not available when I needed you”, she said while pointing an accusing finger at me, I was confused.

“What do you mean you need me? You ran from me, remember? You ran twice, I begged you to wait the other time, maybe if you had waited, you would understand why I had to leave for my Alpha training, but no, you did not wait, so you don’t get to point fingers now”, I said back feeling angry already.

She wanted to talk, but I did not give her a chance to as I began speaking again.

“You knew we are mates, I didn’t talk to you at first because you are a witch, but you knew and you didn’t mind, I was happy about that, but you kept running from me, not giving me a chance to ask you anything, then I come back from training and I saw you were getting married, how fair do you think that is, uh?”

Her head was hanging low by the time I finished my speech, she knew I was right with everything I said.

“Okay”, she said and continued “What is done is done, my father will not allow me to call off this wedding, simply because my mate returned”, she said sadly

“What do we do then?” I asked

“Nothing. We do nothing, you will leave and never come back”, she answered sternly.

Did I laugh dryly at her, and leave? Not a chance.

Not waiting to think about the consequences of my actions, I took long strides toward her and placed my lips on hers.

Those that had met their mate always talked about the spark between true soul mates, I didn’t believe them, but it would seem they were not lying. I

felt sparks, like little electricity going through my body as I kissed her.

She felt it too because she did not push me away, instead, she pulled me closer and deepened the kiss, it was not long before realization set in and she pushed me away.

I did not let her through. I stopped kissing her, but I did not let her out of my arms.

I embraced her with everything I have, letting her feel me through our bond.

I knew she was fighting it, but the more she fought it, the more I am going to try to pull her in.

“Don’t leave me, please”, I must have been going crazy as a result of begging her to stay with me.

“I am sorry”, she said

“We could run away together, you know, you don’t have to be the Princess of the Coven and I don’t have to be the Alpha of my pack, we could go off to someplace where no one knew us and live happy life forever”.

She laughed at my suggestion, little did she know I was not joking, I was very serious about running away.

Nothing else mattered to me more than my mate, I am sure my father and pack members would understand.

“If only it was that easy”, she lamented

“It is, you just have to come with me”, I said, making her look at me suggestively but ended up shaking her head no.

“You should go”, she finalized.

I sighed, but nodded, agreeing with her, I did not want her to be in trouble because of me.

But, if her thought was that I would leave her alone, she’s wrong.

Not in a million years would I ever leave her. I just needed to fabricate a plan that would be suitable enough for both of us.
