The Alpha's Witches

Chapter One

It was winter period when I first found my mate, she was beautiful and fair, had skin as white as snow, her hair was as flowy as velvet, and she had the voice of an angel.

Perhaps, I was biased because she was mine, but it was the truth, one thing that kept me from pursuing her at first was that she was a witch.

We werewolves and witches were not that close, we tend to get on each other’s nerves, so I knew my father would not approve, he was big on keeping to the rules.

I became her stalker, not that she knew. Werewolves have the tendency to scout their mates out first than any other supernatural species, for that reason, I didn’t think she knew we were mates.

I watched her from afar, I watched as she interacted with the village people, how kind she was to everyone, always willing to use her power to help the less privileged, one could tell she was from a noble house from the way she is always dressed.

My stalking went as far as two full moons, as painful as it was to see her and not be able to touch or talk to her; I had to endure because I couldn’t let anyone find out.

Werewolves are creatures of instinct, we like to mate the moment we set eyes on our mates, but I knew that wouldn’t be my fate.

I had to wait for the perfect time to confront my mate before easing her in on the process that comes with being a mate to a werewolf.

I was being extremely secretive until one day when she confronted me.

“Hello mate”, she said with a huge smile on her lips.

I couldn’t answer at first because I was stunned by her beauty, by the Goddess, she was beautiful. I stood there at a spot for about five minutes. I was confused and impressed at the same time that she was able to find out that we were mates.

“Um, me?” I asked, deciding to play dumb.

“Nope, the person behind you”, she pointed behind me.

I was disappointed that it wasn’t me, but I was rather confused why she would call someone else that wasn’t me ‘mate’.

So, I looked back to check who it was, but there was no one there. I frowned. Her laugh brought me out of my confusion. Even her laugh was beautiful.

“I am talking to you, of course, you are so gullible”, she said. If it was someone else who insulted me.

I would have to bite their head off, but because it was my mate, I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed, I blushed. Damn the mate pull.

“I am sorry, my lady”, I muttered feeling embarrassed. She merely waved at me, smiled then left before I could say something else.

I tried going after her, but it was like she vanished and there was no one to be found.

I was happy that she knew we were mates, but I was sad because I wasn’t able to talk longer than that.

On our part of the werewolf community, Alpha’s that are of age are often sent off to a training camp where they are taught the full capacity of their Alpha powers.

I was told by my father and Alpha that I would be leaving for the training place in a week.

I could say no because that would warrant telling him my reason for saying no, and I couldn’t risk him finding out about my mate until she and I talked about how to deal with our situation. So, I agreed.

When I went to the village she was often seen the next day, I couldn’t find her, when I asked around, I was looked at weirdly, and no one answered my question.

So, I continued to visit the village every single day for the remaining time I had left before going to the training camp.

It was the last day before my departure when I was able to see her.

I decided to be a man and confront her, but the moment she saw me coming she turned the other way and ford.

I ran after her silently praying she wouldn’t use magic to vanish into thin air like she did the last time. My prayer was answered at first, she didn’t use magic.

“Wait!” I should have run after her, for a small lady, she was quite a runner, but I was a werewolf, and I loved the chase.

“Please, wait”, I begged for her to stop, at first, it seemed my begging worked, I smiled and did a little thank you to the Goddess.

But, before I knew it, she was gone, vanished into thin air, like she wasn’t just in front of me. It saddened me that she wouldn’t just listen to what I had to say even when she knew we were mates.

I went back to the pack house with a slumped shoulder, like the rejected man that I was.

She didn’t give any impression of not wanting me when she spoke to me, but I couldn’t point out why she would run from me like I was carrying some sort of disease like that.

I packed my things, ready to leave for the Alphas’ training camp.

I will catch up with her after I come back, I promised myself that. Not knowing what was going to wait for me upon my arrival.

“Train well, my son”, my father patted me on the back, as he led me out of the pack house into the woods in the direction of the training camp. I was ready to become Alpha.

If I was the Alpha, it would be easier to find out who the lady was, so I told myself I would train well and be the best I can be because I had someone or many people I needed to impress.

My father and my Mate, whose name I was still yet to know.
