Chapter 2

Episode 2.

*.*

They enclosed him immediately as he bent and picked a broken trunk on the ground which he used in wiping one rogue. He turned to the other and punched his fingers into its chest, drawing out its heart as another rogue hit him at his back with its paw.

Before he could turn to hit it, another rogue clawed at his lap as he fell to the ground with his knees, he started breathing intensely as they circled him.

He took a glance at them and saw they were left with just three; he had taken down two, and it seems other rogues were also running toward them.

One rogue rose his great paw and was about to land it on his head as he dived and kicked another rogue who went flying against the trees, he turned to the rogue with rage and gave it a great blow, hitting it to the ground as it tested dust and went numb.

He turned to the last wolf who started moving backward and he could see the other rogues almost on the battlefield.

All he wanted to do was to fight till the last drop of his blood as the clouds started clearing from the dark sky, he frowned and looked at the sky and saw the moon.

He was shocked as there was not supposed to be a full moon that night, then he saw the face of the moon goddess on the moon as he smiled and nodded.

He knew it was a gift from the moon goddess as his wolf's side started surfacing.

His ribs began cracking as his joints broke, the rumbling sound was so loud that the rogues knew his wolf's side was ready to be let loose as they instantly stopped.

"Retreat! Retreat!" one rogue in human form yelled as the rogue standing in front of the alpha changing to a wolf just stood still, watching the alpha without knowing what to do.

He was whimpering and knew ten of his type was no match for Alpha Creed's wolf's side.

"We fight! We can't give up now! We have lost a lot of us already!" Their leader commanded, but the rogues wouldn't listen and kept whimpering.

He was in his human form, putting on a long black cloak and a hoodie that concealed his face, his fingers could not be seen as they were coated with black leather hand gloves.

He held a silver sword that was shining under the moon which they planned to slay the alpha with. The leather gloves were protecting his fingers from getting hurt by the silver sword which was destructive to wolves.

"Anyone that cowards away would not have a place in the castle when we finally conquer it! It is now, or never!" He yelled as some rogues stood still while a few of them ran away.

Alpha Creed was now a full wolf as he pounced on the rogue in front of him, tearing it apart as his eyes glowed like fire in the dark.

"Attack!!" The leader yelled as the remaining rogues attacked the alpha at once, he started tearing them apart as the moon started fading away.

"He would not hold long, when the moon fades away, his wolf's side would subside and go into hiding because of the great wound!" The leader kept urging them as they kept striking the alpha at once.

Fourteen of the rogues rushed at him at the same time, huddling on his back as he shook himself vigorously, they moaned and dispersed.

The clouds were slowly enclosing the moon and the alpha could feel it.

Creed was getting unstable as the rogues plunged on him once again, he tried to jerk them off, but his strength was withering.

Their leader took the opportunity and charged toward the alpha who was still held down by the rogues, and sliced the alpha on his back with the sword.

The rogues left the alpha who was wiggling on the ground as the leader took a second cut on his back, this time, he went unconscious.

The leader was too scared to get close to the alpha, and he believed he must be dead. He nodded at the rogues as the moon fade away.

They fled into the dark as the alpha changed back to a human, unclad while facing the ground and still unconscious.

By this time, the luna who has been unconscious blinked her eyes, she tried to sit up and stretched with her bones cracking.

"Ahhh!" She yelled when she cracked her arms which had dislocated and got shocked when she saw she was in the woods at night.

She sprang up when she recalled how the coup started and the fleeing with Creed who had rejected her as his mate. She touched the back of her head and felt something warm and wet, she instantly knew it was blood as she started staggering around.

"Creed!" She yelled out his name, fearing for the worse.

"Creed! Where are you?!" She stood and listened, then she knew she was all alone in the woods, the rogues must have left, but where was Creed?

She walked out to an opening and could see the wooden fire torches dispersed on the ground, then she instantly recalled the rogues with the wooden fire torches enclosing them.

"Creed!" She yelled and started hobbling on one foot. Her heart was scrambling fast as hot tears poured down her dirty, sweaty face.

She got to where the battle took place and could see several bodies of rogues lying on the ground; she kept looking around until she saw a naked body, lying in the pool of its blood, facing the earth.

From where she stood, she could easily see the two sword slashes on his white skin.

"Creed!" She raced toward it, knelt next to it, and turned the body to face the sky.

He was bleeding through his mouth and was breathing scarcely; she held his fingers and cried.

"Please, stay with me. Creed don't leave me" She cried kissing his fingers as he struggled to talk.

"Please, save your breath, Creed. Don't speak. I will go get the witches, they would do something__" she stopped when he wiggled his head a little.

"What are you struggling to tell me?" She said within sobs and placed her left ear on his lips as he spoke lowly.

"A... A... Member of the pack,"

"What?"

"I got... the scent"

"Their leader is a member of Mountain Howl Pack"

"What?" She yelled and tried to lift his head so he could speak properly as he winced in pain.

She placed his head on her lap as his breathing steadied.

"You can tell me later, Creed. We have to take you to the witches and__"

She stopped when he held her fingers, looking up at her with a sad smile.

"There's nothing the witches could do to save me, my love. It was a silver sword"

Her eyes bulged as hot tears poured down her eyes. They never knew a member of the pack would own a silver sword.

"I have little time, Cora. Listen to me, please."

" When he got close to me, I got his scent. I was killed by a wolf, not a rogue. A wolf from our pack"

"I will report this to the council and the pack would__"

"No, Cora" he said and started coughing out blood, then he struggled to speak again.

"You would report this to no one. We do not know who it is, you mustn't trust anyone. You have just yourself to trust, and no matter what happens, Cora, make sure the next alpha does not fall into the wrong hands"

"But there is nothing I could do, Creed! Please, don't leave me. I need you" she cried and held on tightly to his fingers.

"Listen, Cora! If they think I am alive, they would not crown a new alpha until I am confirmed dead"

"I know that___"

She did not finish what she was saying when she felt he let go of her grip.

"Creed! Creed!" She shook him vigorously and noticed he was no more breathing.

"Creeeeeeeed!!!" She yelled into the forest, wailing as she held him close to his chest.

Alpha Creed was dead.
