HUH?!” I turned in shock
I was so confused. My wife was right in front of me and we were having a good time together so who would dare come right in front me and ask her for a dance.
To my best knowledge she has no male friends matter of fact she has no other friend asides Claire and even if she did who DARES talk to her where I am.
I could feel my blood getting hot and my eyes burning. I was ready to give whoever that person was a punch. I turned so fast to see who the voice belonged to.
‘Oh God’ I exhaled
“JASPER??!!!” I was bewildered
I couldn’t believe my eyes. My favorite cousin that I hadn’t seen for almost ten years was right in front of me with a smile on his face.
“I missed you man” I leaned in for a big reciprocating hug
“I haven’t seen you in forever” he said with his ever knowing and soft tone and a sweet smile.
Jasper was my favorite cousin in his late twenties, we grew up together, he was like my brother not just my cousin. He moved to another country and we talk from time to time because of how busy we both are. We both have a belief system that marriage is a waste of time so he was still single.
“Meet my lovely wife, Dana” I turned to introduce both of them
“Hello Dana. You are more beautiful than Lisa said you were. I’m Jasper, Felix younger cousin and his best friend” he said with a big smile while kissing her hand
“It’s so nice to finally meet you in person” he smiled
“Hello Jasper. I didn’t know Felix had a cousin he’s never mentioned you to me. And to think you’re his best friend” she said with a smile that made my heart melt
“He doesn’t like to admit it” he whispered jokingly
“But you are so pretty. I wonder how he bagged you” he chuckled
I could remember how all the girls fell for the same flirtatious smile and chuckling and I could see Dana with that same smile and I immediately felt jealous but I knew it was nothing.
“You look different cuz” he said
“You can say it’s the wife effect on me” I laughed
“He’s always been like this for real. Very handsome” she laughed

I couldn’t stop admiring Felix’s cousin, he looked good and he was jovial. We exchanged pleasantries, had fun at the party and we were on our way home after some time.
We decided to have dinner together and to catch up with Jasper. I didn’t know him so it was fun having a little conversation with him and my husband.
“So you got married eventually after our deal. I’m surprised I can’t lie and it’s funny because I didn’t look forward to it. I’m happy for you guys though” he said chuckling at Felix
“It happened man” Felix said smiling like he meant it
“How’s marriage treating you Mrs Dana Felix?” He asked
“Uhh…” I turned to look at my husband to help me in giving a response and he just nodded and gave a very unclear response
“Going well actually…. It’s fun, although I’m always bored because I don’t really work but I start work on Monday” I said
“But it’s going just as it should be. Just having fun” I smiled
“Just looking forward to having a child together now” Felix said with a look
I turned to confirm what that statement was but I didn’t get a reaction from him.
“You got married like 5 months ago, you don’t have to rush” Jasper said trying to make me feel better after my husband’s statement
“An heir is needed and you know this. But we’ll take our time” he giggled
“So what’s going on with you” I asked
“Well…. I’ll be in town for a while I’ve got business to grow here in Cleveland” he said
“It’ll be nice to be close to my family and friends after a long time and also to make lots of money in the process” his intellectuality came out and I could see Felix in him when it comes to business
“You seem to have it all planned out” Felix said
“Don’t worry we’ve got a lot to talk about but let’s save it for an actual business talk. Let’s catch up for now” he said
“Anyways…. thank you for having me I have to get back to my suite I need all the rest I can get” Jasper informed us
“Oh don’t you think it’s too late already?” I asked taking a look at my wristwatch
“That’s true. Why don’t you stay for the night, sleep comfortably and then by the morning you can head back to your suite. I don’t think it’s a bad idea” my husband said
“Oh really..?” Jasper asked with a soft voice
“Wouldn’t I be disturbing you guys” he added
“Of course not. You’re family and it’s nice to have family over. Mrs Bailey and Lisa are too busy to come over so it’s nice to have you here ” I smiled trying to make him feel welcomed and comfortable
“So… any girlfriend whatsoever” I asked attempting to start a conversation
“No not really just focusing on my work and myself trying to getting richer than your husband here but I have fun with girls though” he said jokingly
“Oh that’s good. You’re having fun is what matters” I added
We carried on with our food and conversation and it was the happiest moment ever. I saw genuine love and happiness in their eyes and it was the cutest thing ever. Jasper was a very kind hearted man and anyone could actually see that. He made Felix very much comfortable and happy.
Dinner-breakfast was finally over at two in the morning and it was time to go to bed. We did our good nights and we were off to bed.
I walked into my bedroom to undress and on getting there I saw a broad silhouette.
I gasped
I froze on seeing a shadow in my room. I couldn’t breath although it was a secure house I couldn’t just pinpoint why I was that scared to my bone marrow. I gathered all the courage I have in me and shouted “WHO’S THERE?” Flipping the light switch on I saw that it was Jasper shirtless on the bed I gasped heavily out of fear and shock from his body He was so hot. I couldn’t believe my eyes. He looked so much like Felix. His chest down to his structured stomach that was divided into six down to his waistline and waistband. I FROZE….. I was brought back to myself by his soft voice “Oh my God. Did I scare you?” He asked softly standing up from the bed “I’m sorry. I just entered the room and I thought I could just sit in the dark to get my head straight. It’s something I always do. I’m sorry I made you scared” he said smiling obviously forgetting that he isn’t wearing a shirt “I couldn’t breathe” I giggled nervously “But why sit in the dark to get your mind in the right place. That
Having to work as a writing editor is the most interesting thing to ever happen to me. I never thought I’d have this happiest part of my life. My so-called marriage was going well; no drama, no problems whatsoever and I was killing at work it couldn’t be any better. “I’ll see you after work” I said to Felix “Wait. A friend of mine is having a party tonight and we’ll be going over for it” he said with a warm tone “We’ll be going shopping so I’ll come get you later on. I suggest the driver takes you to work today to make things less stressful” he said “Oh, I didn’t know that I have to work late today so I don’t think I’ll be able to attend” I said “What do you mean by that?” He asked with a bossy expression “I have to work late because I have some work to get done before the weekend starts and that’s tonight” I said with confidence “I’m not asking you, I’m telling you. I’ll come pick you up and we get whatever we have to get and we go for the party whatever work you have to do s
Dana’s POVAs I sat down on my couch, sighing and thinking of my life and how God decided to make things difficult for my twenty four year old self I was brought back to life by my ringing phone“Where the hell are you” my only friend and coworker, Claire yelled through the phone“I’m on my way, there’s a lot of traffic” I lied “Be fast or else you know what” she said almost yelling I ran through the door as fast as I could knowing I’m putting my job at risk, I hailed a taxi and got in telling the driver the address, looking at how the crowd outside bubbled and the lights as beautiful as ever I only thought one thing ‘WHY ME?’My life was going the wrong way and I knew my ruthless boss at work might either fire me before I entered or yell at me throughout the night. Although quitting would have helped my peace a little, it’ll be the worst decision of my life because there’s nowhere I could run to I got down from the taxi and took a deep breath What’s the worst that can happen I
Felix POV“No mom I don’t necessarily have to get married to have a child, I just need a child” I said all blunt giving my mom the ‘leave me alone look’. I was sick and tired of my mom pestering me for a wife, I mean after everything my dad put her through she still expects me to get married?I mean it’s not like I’ll put my wife through hell like he did but I have a phobia for marriage and commitment. I can’t even picture myself in one ‘Commitment is a waste of time’ I always say to myself “You need someone to look after you my darling, someone special who will let you loosen up a bit and not that girl what’s her name again?—Maya”she spluttered with disgust and annoyance Maya was my ex-girlfriend from almost a decade back but we still ‘play around’ from time to time. My mom’s undying hatred for her makes her look very ugly even though she has nice curves and a fine face but truthfully an irritating personality. “Can I go to work now” I said walking towards the door I love my mo
***We walked out of the bar and I instantly noticed a black shining car that shined brighter than my present life and I couldn’t help but widen my eyes and scream when the ‘handsome man’ beside me opened the car with a small remote in his hand. He truly is wealthy as he looks I said to myself We walked towards the opened car and as I got in I sat on the most soft and comfortable seat ever, although a car seat, it was as soft as a five-star hotel bed. After about twenty five minutes of driving without saying a word to each other, we got to a fancy restaurant. He was a gentleman and he opened the door for me, I felt ashamed because I wasn’t dressed for dinner at a fancy restaurant“Why didn’t you say we were coming to a place like this, I’m not dressed for this place” I couldn’t even look up because of how I shy and ashamed I was “It doesn’t matter, you look okay” he said without any emotion and I couldn’t even blush at his compliment because it sounded like an insult. I looked at
I felt very uneasy as I heard his deep voice on the other end of the line, after hesitating I had to answer because my life depended on my decision and the powerful billionaire had no time to waste. “Uhhh I’ve made my decision” I said barely speaking “I need this so I’ll go through it” I said nervously On my way to my mom’s house, the only thing that was on my mind was how to explain to her the whole situation I found myself in. I didn’t want to make her worry nor did I want her to think it’ll be a contract marriage. I got to her place, she looked and felt better than she was the last time I saw her and although happy I was shocked.“Hey baby” my mom—Mrs Annabel Joseker said smiling as she always does whenever she sees me “Mama you look different from two days ago” I said with a smile but with utmost concern“I called you to tell you what happened but then you said you were coming over so I said to wait for you” she said, still smiling. “A young lady brought me my complete medica
Felix's car stood in front of his exquisite mansion and everything I saw was intriguing from the gates down to everything in the compound of the mansion. I gasped when I entered inside I had something to say about every single thing I saw from the furnitures to the chandeliers. The lighting was the nicest I’ve ever seen. While day dreaming about how my life will be in the mansion I was brought back by a deep soothing voice,“Make yourself comfortable Mrs Bailey” he said with an unclear tone leaving me confused‘Have I done anything wrong?’ I asked myself “I’ll be showing you to your room since it’s your first time here” he said walking towards the stairs without looking at me “Why do you mean ‘my room’?, we are married I thought we’re supposed to share a room so why do I have a room of my own” I looked at him with curiosity and confusion and all the excitement in my face faded awayI had all these images of our wedding night in my head and here this man was telling me about having
A huge figure stood in front of me with a deep voice he said “Come downstairs for dinner”. I walked down the stairs to a set table for two. I managed to stop my tears and get myself together moreover, what was I expecting from a stranger and a feared one at that. Immediately, I knew that I was on my own and I had to be careful in the house. I woke up with a good feeling and as I opened the curtains, I knew it was going to be a good day. I proceeded with my breakfast, ignored my so-called husband and walked towards the front door. An almost soothing voice from behind called…“Where are you going?, don’t you think I deserve to know” “I’m going to my mom’s and I’ll be spending the day with her and my friend”I saw my mom after a few days of my wedding and we had a lot to talk about because it was a new experience to me. Leaving out the rash part of being married to Felix Bailey, I told my mom everything and we had a nice time together. ***I staggered into Bailey's mansion, my sho
