Chapter 14 The Pressure From Barron

Frank's POV

I sat in the car, my mind filled with the image of what I had just witnessed.

I had never imagined that one day I would come face to face with Gloria as if she were my adversary. The woman who had once been so obedient to me had now turned so spiteful. It felt as if a cloud of pent-up anger had taken residence in my heart, and I couldn't shake it off.

I pushed open the door and found my grandfather, Barron, sitting in the living room with my grandmother, Juana.

"Grandpa, Grandma, why are you up so late?"

I gently touched the bruises on my face with my hand and tried to put on a facade of normalcy as I greeted them with a smile.

"Frank, something happened?" Barron turned his head to look at me, his sharp eyes making it seem impossible to hide any secrets from him.

"Yeah," I nodded softly, suppressing a sigh.

"I..." I began to say, but Juana stood up in frustration.

"Frank, what on earth is going on? How could you do something like this? How could you break up with Gloria?"
