One Night Of Fun

Jessie's POV

I should have known. I should have known that Xander Brown is a dog; he just left like that after having sex with me, he couldn't wait for me to wake up. He left, dropping his belongings in me - I'm three months pregnant with quintuplets for Xander Brown.

I never imagined that just one night of fun, flirting and pleasure could lead to me carrying five babies in me - don't get me wrong, I love my babies but I knew life was going to be harder for me. It isn't just one but five children I'm going to care for with the only part-time job I am managing.

I could have done what every girl in my age and position would do after finding out that they are pregnant and they aren't married or seeing anybody, abort it - I didn't, I decided to keep them.

“Taking an innocent child's life will be a sin and it will haunt me for the rest of my life.” I said to myself when I found out I was pregnant.

That bastard named Xander Brown turned my life upsidedown in a matter of minutes. He was enjoying his life while I was here suffering to make ends meet.

I had only one person to lay my head on when I'm sad and that's my younger sister, Kimberly. She is my one and only pillar in this world, she is the only one keeping me from shattering to pieces. No mum, no dad - they died leaving us alone in this cruel world.

Luckily, Kimberly isn't that much of a child that needs to be taken care of every hour of the day; she is an adult and takes care of herself, she even lends me assistance when I need it.

" Sis, look what I got. " Her joyful voice made me stop what I was doing to face her.

She was holding a bag is all I know with a big smile on her beautiful face. Her brown eyes gleaming with happiness like she won a lottery.

" What is it?" I inquired, walking to her. She sits on the bed, stretching out the bag for me to take.

In this little apartment where we lived together was our home. It might be small but it is home for us.

The one bedroom and one bathroom apartment was all we could afford; it was spacious enough to contain all the necessities we needed. The walls were covered in flowery wallpaper, the floor was carpeted with the same material. The kitchen at one corner, the little setting on the living room backing the kitchen while the one bed settled a little faraway from the living room.

Opening the bag, my mouth falls open in surprise. Inside the bag were babies clothes - some onesies, some pair of socks and sweaters. I have managed to get some clothes for the boys I am expecting but it clearly wasn't enough.

" I heard that babies can easily catch a cold so I caught this for my nephews. " She says, grinning widely. " Don't thank me. I didn't get it for you, they are for my little boys coming into this world in a few months. " Her hands rubs on my tummy gently as she said those words.

I couldn't stop the tears that fell from my eyes - happy tears, proud tears. Without any words, I pulled her into a hug.

What will I do without her in my life? She is my absolute everything.

" Hey, I said they aren't for you. Didn't you hear me say that?" She jokes, pulling out of the hug. " They are for my nephews, I'll wait for them to come out and hug me, okay?"

" Kim, did you know that you're the best sister ever?"

A cocky smirk settles on her face as she flips her shoulder length hair with a dramatic flip. " Of course, I know. I'm one of a kind. " Laughter erupted from me due to her smug reply. She frowns at me. " Why are you laughing? Don't you think I'm one of a kind?"

" What? No. You're my sister after all, you have to be one of a kind. " I quipped, smiling at her. " Thank you, Kim. I love you so much. "

" I know. " Kimberly plastered an arrogant smirk on her face, getting up from the bed.

Stifling my laughter, I rolled my eyes also standing up from the bed. " Whatever. I have to go now, my shift starts less than an hour. "

" Alright. Have you eaten?" The playful demeanor is gone, the caring little sister on. " Don't lie. "

Nodding my head while I put my phone in my handbag, I said. " Yeah, I eat an apple and hamburger. I've to go, see you later. "

••

Making my way through the long distance from my apartment to where I work was stressful but taking it like an exercise, I did it like a pro.

In five months time, I will have five babies to cater for. How will I manage it? I need to find another job, probably a full-time job since the pay will be higher. I can't burden Kim with the babies neither can I put them in daycare, I am torn.

My head spiralling, making me feel lightheaded wasn't helping matters one bit. I needed ideas on what to do and how to do them.

" Jessie, you this girl!" My boss, Caesar's loud voice rings in my ear dragging me out of my thoughts. " You zoned out again. "

" Sorry sir, it won't happen again. " I immediately apologize not wanting any issue rising up.

He was a very uptight man who likes everything going on smoothly in his clubhouse.

His raven black eyes pierced into mine, scaring the life out of me. " You also said this yesterday and yet it's happening again. I've tolerated enough from you, young lady. "

Dropping the rag I was using to wipe off the stain from the table, I stride towards him. " I'm sorry sir. My mind has been preoccupied lately, I promise it won't happen again. "

" If your mind is preoccupied then I think it is high time you leave this place. " He says, giving me a cold glare. " You're fired, Jessie. "

No, I didn't hear that well. My ears must be hearing differently.

" Sorry?"

" Sorry for yourself. " He snapped causing me to flinch a little. " I want you out of my clubhouse before the sun sets. "

Tears perforated my eyes threatening to cause an outpour but I swallowed it falling to my knees.

" Please, don't do this to me. " I pleaded, joining my hands together in a praying motion. " Please, this is my only source of living, I'll die without this job. Please one last time. "

" Make sure you come get your paycheck before leaving. " My boss's unwavering voice made the tears spill out. " I don't want anything slowing down my workplace. You need to understand from my side, I'm not being wicked, it's for the welfare of my workplace. " That is the last thing he said before walking back into his office.

Slowly, I stood up from the floor palming my face to cover my tears from my coworkers which was stupid because they just witnessed what happened.

Like a walking dead, I ventured home with only one sentence replaying in my head, “you are fired”

What will I do now? Where do I start from?
