Arrested

Jessie's POV

To say I was shocked will be a major understatement; I was astounded to see my kids and Xander in one freaking place - in front of me.

How did they get to see each other? Did Xander believe now that my kids are his? I mean, it is quite obvious, isn't it? The six of them look so alike - the aqua blue eyes and the brown brunette hair exactly the same. He doesn't need any more proof to tell him that the quintuplets are his.

If the kids are here, where is Kimberly? She should also be here, right? Why will she just let the kids leave with Xander like that?

" Get in. " His annoying voice forced my gaze moving to him, my annoyance visible on my face. Xander sigh, running his fingers through his disheveled hair. " Please. "

We were standing beside his black SUV with the kids admiring the car while we shared an heated stare off.

" You want me to enter your car?" The rhetorical question hanging in the air, he nodded. " Why? You threw me out of your car and now you want me inside it. " I couldn't hold the snickeringly laughter on the tip of my lips. " I don't want to. "

Jace tug on the hem of my shirt, drawing my attention to him. " Mummy, please enter the car, I am cold. "

Xander's lips curled up in an admirative smile, staring down on Jace. " Do you want him to catch a cold?"

How dare him use that friendly tone on me? Jeez.

" Jessie, just get in. " He added, tiredly.

To say the truth, I was also cold since I was wearing my plain red shirt and a navy blue jeans but he needs to apologize to me for not hearing me out and for kicking me out of his damn car.

" Mummy. " Jaymes and Jayden winced, holding one of my hand.

Fine, I wasn't going to put the kids' health in danger because of my issue with their father.

" Okay. " I gave in, huffing. Opening the backseat door, the kids swarm in happily. " I'm doing this for my kids. " I decided to make it clear enough to him.

" Our kids. "

He found it right to correct me. He must be joking right now. He absolutely had no rights to my kids, not now.

Ignoring his words but not without a grimace, I got into the car. Xander immediately got into the driver's seat, driving off.

The kids didn't wait for the drive to reach a minute before they started bombarding questions at Xander.

" Daddy, how big is your house?" Jaxon inquired, his voice filled with excitement and curiosity. " Tim said his house is a storey building. "

Letting out a little laugh, he replies egotistically. " Well, you tell Tim that your Dad house is a penthouse. "

Ugh, egotistic much?

" What's a penthouse?" Jake asked.

Should I answer that? He is probably not talking to me so no, I won't answer that.

Xander glance at me before answering the question. " A penthouse is a luxury apartment, it is so big. "

He doesn't know where we live, where is he taking us to? The road he was taking was fancy - the buildings here were all skyscrapers. The street lights shined brightly all through the streets like it wasn't late in the night.

" Do you have a mummy like us?" Jayden finally speaks after not talking since.

" Yes, I do. My mom is super nice like yours. "

What? He didn't just say that? I don't think his mom will be that nice, I've this perspective about wealthy people - they are rude, self-absorbed, thinks the world revolve around them only, pretentious and stupid. His mom may or may not be among the numerous arrogant rich people.

After a while, he slowed down horning at the gate. The black gate slides up, making entrance for him for him to drive into a parking lot - he parked his car before getting out of the car to open the door for the kids which I beat him to it.

" You didn't ask for my permission before bringing me here, that can be considered kidnapping too if you don't know that. " My voice sounded mad and I hope he understood me.

" You didn't speak a single word the whole ride here. " Seeing my displeased face, he sigh. " Sorry. The kids wanted to see my house. "

I really wanted to stay mad at him but his ocean blue eyes attacking my self-will made me give in.

" Fine. " I said. Removing my gaze from him, I bend to my knees bringing the kids' attention over to me. " Are you sure you want to see his house? We can leave if you are uncomfortable, just tell me okay?"

They beamed smiles at me. " Yeah. "

Walking to the elevator was heartwrenching; I hope he lives alone because I can't stand to see or even exchange words with anyone, I'm not in the mood - I got kidnapped minutes ago... Wait, does Xander know his almost-to-be wife is the one responsible for my kidnap?

And just as fate could have it, I had to talk to someone - the woman who threw the first question at Xander at the church was standing right in front of the elevator as we came out with folded hands.

I wanted to disappear as her angry expression were fixated on me; her aqua blue eyes held immerse anger glaring at me but as soon as her eyes landed on the kids, it softened with a gasp.

" Oh my God, she wasn't lying. " The woman cried out. " She does have kids for you.... they look so much like you. " Going on her knees, her eyes now glistening with love. She looks up at me, inquisitively. " Can I hug them?"

Glancing over to Xander smiling down on his mother, I nodded. " Yeah. "

Pulling all of them into her arms, they let her hug them. " Oh my grandbabies are the cutest. "

I know that, they came from me after all tho they looked nothing like me.

Waving his little hand at her, Jayden spoke. " Hi, my name is Jayden. "

" I am Jaymes with a ‘y’, don't forget. "

Her amazed face didn't go unnoticed; it was crystal clear she loves them and was surprised at how they talk.

Awwn, my boys are not only cute but smart.

" I'm Jaxon with a ‘x’, don't forget also. "

" I'm Jake. " Jake said when Jace was taking his time to talk.

Placing my hands on Jace's shoulder, I nudge him. " Hi, I'm Jace Cooper. "

His accent always hit different each time he speaks.

" And I'm Tiffany Brown. " Xander's mother introduced herself, ruffling Jace's hair. " I'm your grandma. " She stood up, staring at me and Xander as we stood in silence. " Come on in, Jessie. " Her hand signalling for me to come further into the apartment.

Okay, she is nice - Xander wasn't lying.

" I thought you were someone Xander hired to lie to me since he didn't want to get married for the past years. " She explained, holding my hand directly to the living room. " You are so beautiful, Jessie. "

Does Xander not want to get married to the extent of hiring someone to do what I did?

A yawn came out of my mouth, tiredness setting in. " Thank you. "

" You must be tired, I'll tell the maid to prepare a room for you. " She chirped and without waiting for me to reply, she left.

I guess I am not going home today since I can't turn down such a nice woman down even though her son is a douchebag.

The living room was so spacious, large and tall. A chandelier light hanging on the ceiling was unreachable except you use a ladder - my eyes swept through the room observing every single details of the living room; everything here screams luxury.

" Mummy, I'm hungry. " Jaymes announced, holding my hand.

" What do you want to eat?" Xander asked him before I could talk, bending so he can be in the same height with him. " Your mummy is tired, she should rest. I'll get you whatever you want. "

Why is he acting like that? He should show the kids his real self - a selfish person.

" The room will be ready soon. " Tiffany's chirpy voice said. " What do you want to eat?"

" I'm good. "

" No, you will eat something. The maids are making you guys a delicious dinner, please eat. "

I heaved a sigh, tucking my hair behind my ear. " Alright. "

~~

Rich people sure are enjoying their life to the fullest everyday of their lives - the dinner I was given was scrumptious or maybe it tasted delicious because I was starving.

The “room” that was prepared for me wasn't a “room”, it was a whole house - you can fit three times my apartment in here. It wasn't any different from the living room; this “room” looks like a fucking suite.

Deciding to take a shower before I sleep, I opened the other door walking in.

" Holy cow. " I let out of a loud surprised scream, palming my mouth after I realized what I just did - I hope no one heard me scream, they will think something happened to me.

I was stunned, beyond speechless and frozen. How can a bathroom be so perfect? Everything here sparkled - from the floors to the walls to the sink to the bathtub and shower; I can literally sleep here comfortably. This is heaven.

Another yawn escaped my mouth as I approached the shower - I'm so tired, I need to turn on shutdown mode fast.

~~

Crawling myself to a ball, I put the duvet over my body while taking my phone to send a quick message to Kimberly.

“ We are at Xander's house, see you tomorrow.” My fingers quickly tapped some buttons on my phone, reading out the message in my head, I sent it to her before sleep overwhelm me.

The kids are with Xander and I'm sure they won't let him sleep tonight, he deserves it. He should experience parenthood a little.

~~

The sun rays directly shine on my eyes, disturbing my sleep. It has been so long I had a peaceful sleep and the sun chose the ruin it. Stupid sun.

Getting up from the bed, I hurried to the bathroom to take a quick shower before throwing on some clothes that was in the closet and going downstairs.

As I expected, the kids weren't here; they must be with either Xander or Tiffany, where will I find them in this huge house?

" Good morning. " A feminine voice greeted making me face the owner. " May I get you a cup of coffee?"

I am a coffee type of person. Infact, I hated the taste of coffee.

I shook my head at the maid with an appreciative smile. " No. Can I help make breakfast?"

" I don't think..."

" Please, I can't live without doing something. " I cut her off, pouting sadly. She hesitated before nodding her head. " Lead me to the kitchen please. "

Immediately we got to the kitchen, I saw three maids in uniformed outfit. They all bowed their heads to me when I entered like I was superior to them which I clearly wasn't.

Looking around the kitchen, I asked. " What's for breakfast?"

" Croque Madame and Rouleaux de Pain Perdu. " Whatever they said doesn't sound like breakfast.

Throwing my hair in a ponytail, I looked at them. " I'll take care of breakfast, go do some other things. " They didn't look like I said anything so I decided to use my superiority over them. " I will not repeat myself. "

All three of them quickly exited the kitchen and I got to work; a quick and simple yet yummy breakfast on the way - pancakes, bacons, scrambled eggs and some freshly squeezed orange juice.

I found my way around the kitchen and was done under thirty minutes. After dishing it out, I left the kitchen to look for my kids.

Where will they be? Why can't I find them?

Seeing Tiffany's smile also made me smile. " Good morning, Jessie. Where are you going?"

" The kids, where are they?"

" Oh, they went out with Xander. " She replied. " They will be back soon. I was told you prepared breakfast. "

I nodded my head absentmindedly. Where did Xander take the quintuplets? Should I be worried? He wouldn't do anything reckless, right?

" Don't worry, dear. " Her voice assuringly cooed at me. " They will get back soon. I want to eat what you made, come on. "

" It is the dinning room. I need to call my sister, I'll be back soon. "

" Okay. We have a lot to talk about, be quick. " I nodded before turning to walk back to the room I had last night.

Dialling Kim's phone, she picked up at the second ring.

Kimberly chimes from the other side of the phone, loudly. " Hey, sis. Why are you calling?"

" Can't I call my younger sister again? Anyways, the kids aren't here so I might come back later today. I wanted to let you know. "

" If the kids aren't there, then where are they?" The worry in her voice was evident.

" Don't worry, they are fine. They went out with Xander. " I informed her, hoping they will be back soon.

" Okay. See you later. " She sounded calmed now.

" Make sure you lock the door properly before leaving. "

" I know, I'm not a child. "

" You act like a child most of the time. "

I didn't give her the chance to talk back when I hang up. I'm hungry and need to eat.

" That's her!" The lady who kidnapped me yesterday shouted pointing at me as soon as I went downstairs. " That's the girl who poisoned the breakfast my mother-in-law ate. "

What?! Poisoned? Why on Earth will I do that?

Two policemen walked over to me, one handcuffing my hands to my back while the other one robotically said. " Ms, you are under arrest for the attempted homicide of Mrs Tiffany Brown, you have the right to an attorney. "

What the hell are they talking about? Mrs Tiffany is right there....wait, is that blood on the floor? No no, it can't be possible.

Turning my gaze to the lady discreetly smirking at me, I gasped getting everything - she did it, she poisoned the breakfast I made.

For some reasons, my mouth couldn't open to say a word as I was dragged out of the penthouse.

If only I didn't ruin her wedding then this won't be happening. I hope Mrs Tiffany is fine.

For the first time in my life, I'm getting arrested. I couldn't even see my boys before leaving, great. That lady is after my life.
