IN THE MIDST OF ENEMIES

As she heard that the meeting was about to come to an end, Queen quietly tiptoed back into her room, closing the door.

She placed her hand on her chest as tears began to fall from her eyes. She was in the midst of enemies, and she thought they were her allies.

The Wild Stallions had taken her parents and killed everyone in her gang. This meant that her life was in danger and Bryce had been using her. So much for being in love with her.

Now she knew she couldn't go back home. If they had killed everyone and taken her parents, it meant even their mansion wasn't safe. What was she going to do?

She recalled what Bryce's father had said earlier and realized that the safe house must be where her parents were kept.

If only she could rescue her parents, then everything would go back to normal. Her father was extremely strong. If she could rescue him, they would get back all that had been taken from them.

She thought about what to do and looked out through the window. She saw the truck downstairs and realized that it was what Bryce was expected to drive out of the building.

"I need to get out of here," she said to herself. She knew there was no way she could make it out through the door because of the cameras. She was on the fifth floor, and it was a high building.

However, she had to get down. She went to the wardrobe, took off the pajamas she was wearing, and wore a pair of black jeans that Bryce had kept there, along with a black t-shirt.

She checked around for a weapon but couldn't find any. She took all the clothes that were in the wardrobe, tied them all together, and formed a rope. Afterward, she tied it to the window and began to descend slowly. She couldn't find any shoes in the room, so she was barefooted. She kept moving down slowly until she was finally at the bottom.

While she was there, she remained by the wall, looking around. She saw that there were underlings moving about and guarding the area.

She couldn't let them see her. She began moving by the wall until she got to where there were cars. She rolled her body and moved under one car, walking on her belly. She moved from car to car until she got to where the truck was.

She stared at the truck and realized that it was locked. She wanted to pick the lock, but there were two guards around. She observed their movements and saw that every few minutes they changed their positions.

During that time, their eyes turned away from the truck. She waited until they turned and immediately ran to the truck, picked the lock, and went in, leaving it unlocked.

She stood inside, by the side of the truck, her heart beating very fast, knowing that if it was discovered that the truck wasn't locked, she would be in big trouble.

While she was in there, she kept peeping out through a small hole by the side of the truck, but she could barely see anything.

Eventually, though, she heard Bryce's voice as he said, "Let's go."

Bryce got into his car with a few of their underlings, and a driver got into the truck and began to drive. She heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that they would not find out about her presence until they finally arrived at their destination.

She looked at what they were carrying in the truck and was surprised to see different brown boxes. Her first thought was that they were carrying illegal substances, which was why they were doing it so late at night. But as they passed through different checkpoints, they were allowed to move because of their connections.

When they finally arrived, the door to the truck was opened, and she stood by the side. She heard one of them say, "I can't believe this door was unlocked."

Bryce asked, "Who did that? Who left it unlocked? Do you know what you almost did?"

"I swear, boss, I left it locked," one of them replied.

"Anyway, it doesn't matter. Get the goods out," Bryce ordered.

Queen stood by the side, waiting as they began to take out the cartons one after the other. One of the men finally got into the truck to take out the rest of the boxes, and when he saw Queen, he wanted to scream.

However, she kicked him in his balls, covered his mouth, and quickly snapped his neck. Afterward, she jumped out of the truck.

She came face to face with another underling and punched him, knocking him out immediately. As she opened one of the cartons, she was shocked to see a young girl inside.

"They are trafficking humans," she could not believe her eyes.

Her father had made it clear that this business was prohibited. Could this be why the stallions wanted to get rid of them?

She checked all the cartons and saw different little girls curled like balls. They were all unconscious, and some of them had turned cold.

She didn't know what they had given to them. At this point, she understood why the cartons were really big. Right at this point, she heard one of the guards scream and say, "There's an intruder!"

She quickly ran and went into hiding. They began firing shots at her, but she remained hidden while they all went toward her location.

She was able to sneak to the back of the building. She wanted to get into the safe house, as she believed her parents would be there. But there were just too many men, and she didn't stand a chance.

"I need to get one of those guns," she said to herself, but she didn't know how she was going to do it.

Eventually, she began to hear loud gunshots.

"There's another intruder!" one of the underlings called out.

"Another intruder? Who could it be?" she wondered. Did they have other enemies? She heard more shots being fired at the men and how they screamed and fell.

However, one of the men got closer and she began to run again. He chased her relentlessly. Perhaps he thought she was working with the second intruder. He finally reached her and was about to point his gun at her, but she threw a stone at him, which she had picked up, and jumped on his body, beating him to a pulp.

She picked up his gun when he became unconscious and ran out from there.

When she came out, she saw some other men running towards the cartons to pick them up and began to shoot at them. She kept shooting until she ran out of bullets.

"Hello, Princess," a voice said from behind her.

She turned and saw Bryce. He was pointing a gun at her. She raised her hands in the air and began to move backward.

He said, "Wow, you're really something, aren't you?"

"How dare you? You took my parents, you bastard!" she cursed.

He laughed, "Yeah, I needed something important from them. I was going to let them rest in their graves after taking them."

"You deceived me. I can't believe that I loved you." Queen said.

"Love? Are you a fool? Come on! That's the height of stupidity." Bryce mocked.

"You're trafficking children. It's against the rules." Queen reminded him.

"Well, that ended last night. My father is now the leader of all the gangs, so we now make the rules. Yes, for fifty years, you all were lame ducks who ruined all our businesses.

We weren't able to make enough money. But that ended yesterday. All the gangs even want you and your family out of the way because you're all weaklings.

It's quite unfortunate that I have to let you go now. I thought I could string you along for a little longer, but I guess this is goodbye."

He was just about to pull the trigger when Queen closed her eyes as the sound of a gunshot erupted in the air.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Bryce on the ground, bleeding. He had been shot in his clavicle. A man rushed towards her. She had never seen him before, but from the way he looked, she could tell that he was a cop.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

She nodded.

"Are you one of the girls who was taken?" He asked again.

Queen shook her head.

"Okay, come on. Help me. We need to get these children out of here," he said.

Without thinking twice, Queen went with him, and they loaded all the cartons that were taken out of the truck right back into the truck.

Afterward, the cop got into the driver's seat and asked Queen, "Can you shoot?"

She replied, "Yes."

He handed her a gun, instructing her to stay at the back and shoot at anyone who tried to follow.

She nodded, took the gun, and got into the back of the truck. She stood inside, leaving the door slightly open so she could observe from inside. Two cars began to chase after them, and as the cop had instructed, she began firing shots at their tires until they could no longer move.

Once finished, she closed the truck door, sat inside, and let out a sigh of relief.

Suddenly, she remembered her parents, "Oh no, my parents! I need to save them!"

She started pounding on the truck door, shouting, "Stop this truck! Stop it right away!"

However, the cop refused to stop.

Frustrated, Queen opened the truck door and jumped out of it.

As soon as the cop heard the doors swing open, he stopped the truck and stepped out.

Seeing Queen about to walk away, he said "Stop. We are in a very dangerous location, young girl. What are you doing?"

"I need to go back. My parents are back there," she replied.

"There are no humans back there," he said.

Confused, she exclaimed, "But that's the safe house! My parents have to be there."

He explained, "Yes, but they are not. That place is just filled with dead bodies of children. Come on, we need to go. I'll tell you more about it."

Queen looked behind and realized that more cars were coming after them. Without wasting any more time, she got back into the truck and the cop did the same.

Just as the truck moved, the cars got closer and began to shoot at them. Queen hid behind the door cocked the gun she was holding and began to shoot back.
