~Bobbie~

The girls were ready to go out, and so were the boys. We walked out of Mel’s room and found them already drinking and fooling around. These men cleaned up well, but my eyes were fixed on Jake, at least when he wasn’t looking at me. He was wearing a simple polo and fitted jeans, and I think they plan to go clubbing as well.

“Bobbie,” I stiffened when I heard Jake’s voice so close to me. He sounded as if he already had too much to drink. With his hand gripping my arm, he dragged me to the patio, away from our friends.

“What?” I snarled, hauling my arm from his grip.

I’m still pissed about seeing him with Elise.

My eyes locked with his but the look on his hues rendered me speechless. I was wearing a red cocktail spaghetti dress that hangs just in the middle of my legs, and I paired it with my silver stilettos. I knew it was hugging my body too tight, but all of us dressed sexy. They said that it’s the proper way to do this thing.

He trapped me on the railing of the patio between his arms as he planted a kiss on my cheek. “Don’t be naughty tonight.” He whispered before walking away from me.

Who the hell does he think he is? Because I’m stubborn, I plan to get naughty tonight.

Our cab arrived, but before I could leave, Dad ensured I got enough threat of getting too drunk and wasted. I’m not the bride, for crying out loud, but whatever, at least someone loves me like he does.

We arrived at our first stop, and I can’t believe we’re in a strip club. Mel had a sash around her with the word ‘bride,’ and we headed for the private booth reserved for us. Drinks flooded, bodies ground to one another.

Yep. I’m definitely getting wasted tonight.

A man almost wearing nothing walked through the black curtain, which I didn’t know existed. Another man followed him and another. The girls were screaming like crazy, and I think this wasn’t so bad at all. They dragged Mel to take a seat in the middle of the room for a dirty dance. The dark-haired guy even made Mel touch him inside his briefs. Her eyes widened, cheeks burned in flame as she bit her lip, closing her eyes. It was fun watching her. She could never touch another man after her wedding.

The two other men walked around the room and danced with Mel’s cousin. Everyone is on for anything, just enjoying their time. One man came up to Candice and me, but when he saw Candice had a baby in the oven, he turned to me.

“What’s your name, Lovely,” he whispered in my ears.

“Athena,” I said, and Candice muffled a laugh. He raised his brows but guided me to the center of the room bedside Mel. “She’s the bride,” I defended when he placed a blindfold around my head.

“I know, and you’re the maid of honor, right?” memories of Jake making love to me, blindfolded, swarm into my mind, but I shake it off. I’ll deal with him tomorrow. Tonight, I’m going to have fun. “I’m Adonis, and I’ll make you happy, Athena.”

My head kept pounding like someone placed a boulder above it, and it kept piling and piling some more. Memories of last night’s party were such a haze. I wasn’t drunk, but I think someone jinxed my beer. Someone was banging on my door, and I looked at my phone, which showed it was four in the morning. Can’t I have a beauty sleep?

Groaning, I opened the door only to be met by a very furious Jake West. He pushed past me without even saying anything. “Come in then,” I said sarcastically.

“I told you not to be naughty.” He crossed his arms over his chest. He made himself comfortable inside my room.

“Stop calling me that,” I groaned as I tried to get back under my duvet.

“Why? Are you with someone else?” He was mocking me, but I have no time for his drama right now. I want to sleep - I’m in love with sleep. I covered my face with my pillow, closed my eyes, and ignored that he was now dipping into my bed with his weight. “Bee,” he was shaking my shoulders now, and it was hurting my head.

“Stop” I swatted his hands, but he just caught it and pulled me up to sit on my bum. “I want to sleep, go away….” I tried to push him, but he just laid down beside me, wrapping his arms around my waist. Groaning, I curled like a shrimp, but he pulled me back against his chest.

“You’re not kissing anyone again,” he murmured in the crook of my neck, but I was too tired to argue with him.

I woke up because someone was invading my privacy again, not the door but on my bed. Jake was sleeping peacefully. Soft snores were coming out from him. I tried to stand up, but he tightened his hold on me. “No, you’re not escaping.”

I groaned, trying to remove his arms around me, but it was a futile attempt. “Jake, I have something to do. It’s Mel’s wedding day.”

He shakes his head that his nose was tickling my neck. “It’s still early. Sleep.”

I stayed silent, waiting for him to loosen his grip on me, but it didn’t happen. I was avoiding him because the just-woke-up Jake was my favorite look on him. Blond locks mused to perfection, the freckles in his nose light yet prominent, but his lips… his kissable lips, so pink and full.

There was a knock on my door, and that made Jake flinch. I scurried to my feet, hauled him up, and pushed him inside the closet. He frowned, but followed suit. We’re not teenagers, but I don’t want anyone to know that we slept together. That would be awkward.

“Pa,” Dad’s worried face met me when I opened the door. I gave him a hug and asked. “What’s wrong?”

“I think Mel is having wedding anxiety,” when he said that, I ran to their bedroom, and I saw everyone gathered inside, still in their sleeping clothes.

I can hear Mel’s muffled cries from the closed bathroom. Matt’s worried look breaks my heart, and I wrap my arms around him. “It’s going to be okay, Matty.”

“I don’t know, Bobbie, she just started crying and won’t let me in.” Matt’s broken voice breaks my heart too.

“I’ll talk to her. Just give us some room, guys.” Matt was the last one to leave. He was hesitant that Mel might not meet him on the altar today.

“Mel?” I knocked on the bathroom door. “Everyone left. It’s just me. Come out anytime, okay?” I sat on their bed, eyeing her wedding dress. I wonder how it would feel to wear a white dress like that.

Stop dreaming!

A few minutes later, the bathroom door swung open. Mel’s bloodshot eyes and messy hair, not to mention puffy cheeks, had me worried. “What’s wrong, Mel?” I asked her as she took a seat beside me.

“Bobbie, I can’t marry, Matt,” she whispered.

“Why?” I tried to sound calm, but in reality, all my 911 alarms are blaring in my head.

She lowered down her top, and I saw a kiss mark just below the valley of her breast. I started giggling, and she looked at me, confused and furious.
