Our friends were dead serious about locking Jake and me out here until morning. I don’t mind though. There was enough firewood to keep us warm through the night and there was another set of an actual tent with sleeping bags for our disposal.

They prepared a lot of food for us as well. How thoughtful was that? I mentally laughed at their support for our love. There was even a note that said, ‘you two are not allowed inside the house in the morning unless you un-break your break up.’

I have no doubt that this was Mel and Candice’s idea. They’re the only ones bold enough to get on my bad side this way. They knew I would never hate them, though.
