Alternate Ending|Deleted Scenes

This scene would be an alternate reality if that rooftop episode didn’t happen. ;)

~Bobbie~

I kept punching and kicking until memories of Jake and that blond were out of my head. They look so cozy.

“Poor dummy,” Priya’s voice brought me out of trance.

I rolled my eyes. “I wish I don’t have feelings like this punching bag.”

She takes a seat on the wooden chair while sipping her coffee. I’m in their place outside of town, and I didn’t realize that I’d confined to her. She once made it her life’s mission to make my life miserable, but here we are now. She listened to my story of weakness and stupidity.

“You clearly both have feelings for each other. What’s holding you back, Bob?” she asked while I continued to torture this punching bag.

“What if he gets tired of me again, Pri?” I said, wiping my forehead with the towel she loaned me. Taking a seat beside her, I sipped the offered black coffee she made for me.

Priya is out of my circle of friends, but we became closer like sisters. I hadn’t lost contact with her even when I left Santa Barbara. My determination to help Priya never waivered. I felt obliged to help her move on from the dark past created by our tangled fate. But honestly, I gave her a helping hand because I knew she went through all those struggles alone. She had no one, while I had my friends and family.

She was adamant about accepting my help at first. My persistence won, I guess. After the trial, she gave birth to her son, Brandon. Yes, it was in memory of our little brother. I gave her financial assistance and moral support in starting her life over.

“Has it ever occurred to you that he might just be testing you?” she teased, giggling.

“Maybe.” I shrugged my shoulders as we heard little footsteps coming in our directions. ”Brandon!” I opened my arms to the adorable, bounding baby boy. Although, he’s not a baby anymore.

“Aunt Bobbie!” He’s turning seven this year. Time really flies when you’re too busy to live life. Winston, Priya’s boyfriend, padded behind Brandon.

Winston is a preschool teacher. Priya met him three years ago when she was looking for a tutor for Brandon. I guess Brandon isn’t the only one he educated. He also taught Priya to love, and I’m happy for them.

“You’ve grown taller, Bran.” I ruffled his brown locks.

I invited them to have a vacation in Athens last year for Brandon’s birthday. But looking at the little boy, it seems like ages have gone by.

“Bobbie,” Winston pulled me for a hug.

“I’m smelly right now,” I explained, but he just kissed the top of my head. They’ve grown on me, and I’m glad that whatever happened in the past led us to this situation right now. “I should head out, Pri, I know you’re busy harvesting the crops.”

She heaved a sigh. “You can stay here if you want, Bob. It’s your place, after all.” She wrapped her arms around me as we walked to her car. “I’ll give you a ride to the beach house.”

“I’ll just call a cab, don’t bother,” she winked at me, and I knew our talk wasn’t done yet. “Fine, bye Bran, Wins!”

“Bye Bob, see you later.”

Priya drives this old truck. I offered to replace it with a new one, but she declined. She said that it was rusty but still working.

“What’s your plan after the wedding?” she asked as soon as we were on the road.

“New York. Pa, wanted me to work,” she giggled at my sarcasm because she knows that I hate working with businessmen.

“Call me every day about it. I wanna know,” she laughed enthusiastically while I pouted.

“What am I going to do, Pri?” I finally asked, which was tormenting my mind since my bedroom scene with Jake.

Priya’s gaze turned serious, and I knew this was the talk. “I’ve seen your love grow, Bobbie. He still loves you, and I think you need to talk to him, tell him everything. I’m not an expert in this department,” she giggled, “but one thing I learn in this life is that everything can be discussed over a cup of coffee or chocolate with marshmallows.”

I crossed my arms over my chest, shaking my head, giggling. There is truth in what she said. I pondered deeper into it.

“I know you’re afraid of what he might tell you. If he rejects you and hurts you again. But honestly, Bobbie, it wasn’t his fault. Everything that he did in the past, he did it because he loves you. It was hard to break him, you know.” Priya shook her head. “That boy I met seven years ago is determined to protect you with his life. I don’t think that changed or will it ever change. Imagine, he agreed to be your best friend. Who would do that after the way you left him.”

When she puts it on that angle, it looks so bad. She made me look so bad.

We talked some more about their plans for the field this coming season, and I’m glad that their farming is doing great. She dropped me off at the beach house, but she didn’t want to come in. She still felt guilty for everything, and I told her that my friends were cool with it.

“Bobbie! Priya!” Mel shouted from the entrance and ran in our direction.

“Hey Mel,” Priya smiled sheepishly.

“Here,” she handed her a wedding invitation. “Please come to our wedding, bring your family too.”

Priya’s shaky hands took the white envelope. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. We’re having breakfast. Would you like to join us?” Mel smiled at her sweetly.

“Oh,” she scratched the back of her neck. “Bran and Winston are waiting for me. Maybe some other time, but we’ll come to your wedding.”

“Okay, I’ll see you then.”

We waited for Priya’s car to disappear into the driveway until we walked into the mansion.

“Bobbie,” I heard Dad and Damon’s voice, and soon their familiar warmth engulfed me.

“Pa, Dame, when did you arrive?”

“We wanted to surprise you, but we were surprised you’re not here.” Damon smelled my hair. “And you stink.”

I nudged his side, and he faked being hurt. Dad wrapped his arms around me and guided me to take a seat at the dining table. It was just the four of us. We talked about things except for Jake. I’m not ready to tell them how stupid I became, how weak I became because of him.

“My wedding dress arrived.” Mel pulled my hand to their bedroom and motioned for me to check out the white dress hanging on her closet door. It was simple, but elegant. A strapless gown with a body-fitted top and flowy skirt. Tiny pearls were accentuating the top of the gown, which made it sparkle with every move of the dress. “It’s beautiful, Bobbie, thank you.” She pulled me for a hug, and I didn’t know I was crying until she wiped my face. “Oh Bobbie, you’ll find your happiness too. I know it.”

Mel and Candice knew how I dreamed of Jake and I’s wedding that moment he asked me out. Call it stupidity, but I knew in my heart that Jake was the one. Now… I’m not sure.

“I’m happy for you and Matt,” I wrapped my arms around her, too.

“We wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for you Bobbie, thank you.” We cried and cried until we were both gingerly laughing like crazy.

It was a fitting day for the entourage, and I can’t believe that the wedding is just right around the corner. Our dresses were shades of blue and white, both of Matt's and Mel’s eye colors, so they decided it would be best to go with that shade.

The gowns fitted us perfectly. I, Tina, and some of Mel’s cousins were her bride’s maid, but Candice was still present in all the preparation. The girls are planning Mel’s bachelorette party, and we settled to go clubbing for that night. I have never attended a bachelorette party before, but I knew that the naughty sides of the girls were working perfectly.

I haven’t seen Jake in three days. If he was avoiding me, then I should thank him for saving me from the awkwardness.
