Chapter 38: THE REVELATION OF LIFE BEFORE NOW

Joanna's POV

I found myself in a maze with mirrors reflecting my image the very moment my eyes jerked open in a strange place. I've only heard of this kind of place once, though not vividly, but somehow the description was just like this. I've read about it in a journal I retrieved from the attic in the orphanage I stayed.

I was stranded standing in the middle of nowhere with nothing to get a clue of where I was except mirrors and my reflection, I looked around hoping to find a way out of the maze.

Then suddenly, a chilling voice spoke up, "Why are you judging yourself when you did nothing wrong?"

I turned to the direction of the voice, it came from the mirror behind me, and it was my reflection, the spitting image of me. She was adorned with everything alluring, while I looked tattered like an abandoned child.

"Excuse me?" I said, stepping backwards as it kept approaching me. The image had left the mirror and was walking towards me now.
