Chapter 33: GETTING DISCHARGED

Chris POV

One of the reasons I never wished to get attached to an opposite gender was because I know how vulnerable I can be and so far in my relationship with Joanna, I've been through a lot of ups and downs trying to figure out a solution for one problem or another.

Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not complaining about her being a nuisance or whatever your mind is telling you. The truth is every time I think of how fragile Joanna is, it makes me stand on my toes.

Exactly why I was restless when I could not find Joanna in her room. Not until she returned twenty minutes after I arrived only to tell me sad news which involved her best friend.

"Pardon me for making you wait that long, Mr Chris." The doctor in charge of Joanna said as he walked in interrupting my thoughts.

"I did not wait for too long, Doctor Charles. I heard you were in the operating room... How did the surgery go?" I asked.

"It was successful as it should be. Thanks for asking, let's get back to the reason you're here.
