Craig took the iced drinks cooler, took a small step to the side and whispered in my ear.

"I'll be back in the lounge if you're pining for me!" His eyes met mine and he managed the prettiest smile I'd ever seen. He watched as Craig stood very close to me and said something to me until he finally came between Craig and me.

"I see you've already met my girlfriend?" Craig's eyes widened.

"Dude, what the hell are you talking about?" He rubbed my back gently and stood right next to me.

“Craig, take the vodka and go to Taylor, he's waiting! And do me one more favor: I don't care if you pick up any creature you come across....but not you !!« Craig groaned and went back into the lounge.

"Relax, I don't know you like that!" When Craig was out of earshot, I saw those green-brown eyes again. I didn't even know what to do or what to do.

"Girlfriend? What? ...After those horrible moments at the fair??” He had no more facial expressions.

"Listen...I was just trying to prevent my brother from having a girl I want!" Craig is his brother? I was stunned by his statement and I think my eyes said so too.

"Are you guys totally nuts? I'm not a toy to argue with, am I? I'm not an object to be claimed!' The gleam in his eyes finally faded. He put his hands on his hips and shook his head slightly.

"What? ...No... I don't think you understand...' But I interrupted him. What is he imagining? So just because he makes a little music he can have any?

»...-No, let it be! ...I don't know what got into me when we were on that ferris wheel together, but I take back everything I did there! I totally regret that I got so close to a complete stranger like you without knowing anything about him!!!! ....I don't even know your name!" He took a deep breath and held out his hand to me.

"Hey, I'm Jayden... and please give me one more chance to explain... Please!" He begged me. So Jayden! I shook his hand briefly and poured myself another champagne. Jayden smiled and his dimples showed. »...Okay, let me explain everything now, okay? ...You know I don't have the chance to meet someone like you. I play in my brother's band but we're climbing the charts and more and more people recognize you on the street. There's no chance of getting to know someone "just like that" without that person coveting my fame! At least that's what I thought...until before at the fair!! ...You had no idea about the band, didn't know me and see me as I really am. And in the Ferris wheel... I don't know how to describe it....b-but... something.... I mean... there was something between us! ...I couldn't stop thinking about you and above all about the impression I must have made on you!!« He laughed shyly and avoided my gaze.

Suddenly his head shot up when he heard Debora laugh with Dwayne. Jayden had probably not noticed the two and only mumbled briefly to himself.

"Deb'? What the... what does he want from my sister?” Sister? Debora is Jayden's sister and so is Craig? It's getting crazier. What's next? Jayden started toward Dwayne, but I grabbed his arm and stopped him.

"No, not! This is Dwayne... my friend! All right, please sit down again!” He looked at Debora again, exhaled deeply and sat down next to me on a vacant bar stool.

'So your friend?' He ordered a water.

"Yes, my best friend!" Jayden looked relieved but took a long sip from his glass.

Slowly we warmed up to each other and talked about all sorts of things. He talked about his life since the band became more famous, that there was a lot of downsides and listened intently to me when I talked about my last four months in Australia. I now knew more about this beautiful young man who could make my heart race with just a small smile. Jayden is 20, mainly plays drums in the band, but can also play many other instruments such as guitar and piano and even supports Craig in singing. He told me that he never wanted to be in this band, but a friend of Craig's left a year ago to start his own band. Actually, he had only joined the band out of necessity to help Craig and now they were conquering the charts. Debora was my year and from his very detailed conversations I could really hear that he cared a lot about her.

Dwayne turned to me on his bar stool for the first time since he sat across from Debora. He spotted Jayden and pieced it all together himself.

"Hey, you're..." At a loss for words, he pulled away from Jayden's gaze and looked at me and continued talking. »...Joe, you found your »lover« from the Ferris wheel«? ...haha... and then one from TheHeartbreakers ... Shit, I can't take it!...' Debora laughed sweetly at him.

"Dwayne, this is my brother Jayden!" Dwayne rose from his stool briefly, then sat down again.

"Holy shit, huh? ….haha…that's crazy…” Dwayne drained his glass and then turned to me. “What I was going to say, Joey, I got a message! Check this out…” He held out his cell phone.

Haven't found you.

Since probably already gone.

Let me know next time!

We are at home now too

“You okay?” Jayden gave me a quick pat on the arm. How do we get home now? Are they really easy? I checked my cell phone and had several missed calls. Crap.

“Joey, don't worry, we'll get home somehow! If I have to, I'll call a taxi!' He nodded encouragingly, but he was actually right.

"Yes, okay. Let's enjoy the evening, or do you want to go now too?' Dwayne looked shyly at Debby.

"No, if it's okay with you I'd like to stay!" I nodded to him and he turned fully back to Debby. Jayden raised his eyebrows. He probably didn't know what to think of Dwayne and Debby. That's what unsettled him, too.

I stood up "Do you want to come with me?" and snapped him out of his deep thoughts.

“Where to?” I nodded towards the huge panes and started running, which overlooked the dance floor below. I just always loved people watching. At the front of the pane there were nothing but small tables and sofas and a few single armchairs. I sat at the farthest table in the corner, from where I could see everything. Jayden followed me with my glass, which I must have left at the bar. He handed it to me and sat right next to me. Actually, I thought he would sit across from me.

"Found anything good yet?" He looked down at the dance floor. I giggled and looked for crazy or funny people and even found a few.

“See that guy in the yellow shirt down there? I think he's trying to dance...” Jayden searched the ballroom and spotted the person I meant.

"That's not a guy!... Definitely a woman..." He made me laugh and we joked around for a while and enjoyed the time together.

I had no idea what it was about Jayden that fascinated me, but I felt the comfort in his presence that I've only known Dwayne to have. I didn't quite understand that a few hours ago we didn't really know each other and I thought he was a freak.

And how the hell can a human have eyes like that.

And his looks, they bored into me and left a nice feeling in my heart.

Jayden looked at his watch. It was really late, how quickly the time had passed.

"How are you getting home now?" I couldn't stop smiling and shrugged my shoulders.

“I rely on Dwayne! He never lets me down and always brings us home somehow!” Jayden glanced around the room, back into my eyes, back away, and then his gaze lingered on me... So heartfelt, warm, sparkling, loving, and sweet at the same time.

"Well, I could... drive you home?!" He explained that he hadn't been drinking because he never did when Debora was around. He always wanted to make sure that Deborah got home safely. I thought what he said was really cute. A brother like that is a godsend for Debby.

We went back to where Dwayne and Debby were, still sitting exactly as we had left them. Jayden explained to them that we were leaving now.

His bandmates and his brother were still sitting in the lounge with a few women. He and Debby wanted to say goodbye to everyone and Dwayne and I stood there like idiots.

They were all totally dolled up and styled. So much make-up and whatnot on the faces and then between the easygoing rocker boys. It just didn't fit.

Then there was Dwayne and I, totally inconspicuous with all the glamor girls and the band members. I was glad that we waited a bit apart and could watch everything from afar.

"Jayden, are you leaving?..." A tall, curvaceous black-haired woman in a glittery gold dress made her way over to him, her hair tossed over her shoulders. I rolled my eyes and Dwayne grinned at me. He had the same thoughts as me. bitches She put her arms on his shoulders. "Are you sure you want to go already? I really missed you Tonight, where have you been? You couldn't get enough of me last time either!” Ouch. That really hurts.
