Cora’s POV
“Cora!” Tally waves her hand at me, I can’t help but smile and do the same. She is my only friend since we were children, the one who stays by my side no matter what happened. She runs toward us and immediately kneels down and hugs the child on my side. “How are you, Clyde? You still cute, she kisses him on his left cheek.”
However, he wipes it using his small hand that makes both of me and Tally look at him in surprise, “don’t want your kiss, only want my mama to kiss me.” He innocently said.
I can’t help but laughs at Tally’s reaction, she is a bit hurt and offended but at the same time amused, “why don’t like my kiss you little brat? I’m also gorgeous like your mom.”
“N-no, that’s not true. My mom is beautiful like a flower like her smell,” he replies and hugs me, gosh, I really love him.
“You, how can you betray me now when I babysit you when you are small?!” Tally asks jokingly, she pinches his cheek gently and because he has white skin it immediately leaves some marks and becomes red.
“Tally, don’t argue with my son,” I’m laughing while stopping them, Clyde just pouted his pinky lips and continue eating the ice cream in his hand.
“Never mind, just thankful I love your son. By the way, how are you?” She looks at me seriously.
“Still trying to figure it out, the last job I had did not give my salary because of what happened. They said that it was my fault that I’m omega if my scent didn’t trigger the customer who unfortunately is an Alpha, then everything did not happen in the first place.” I sighed.
It is still funny to me that they are pointing their fingers at me even though I am the victim, putting the blame on me they easily get away with the issue of my late payment.
“The heck is wrong with their mind? Not only did they not give the money but cornered you as being an omega, I can’t believe them.” She rolls her eyes and pats my shoulder as she stands straight.
“Forget about that, what would I expect from everyone? Since I was born, everyone looked at me that way. Not only me but every omega in this world.” I said I’m not surprised to receive such kind of treatment.
I can’t help but look at Clyde and smile, luckily, he’s an Alpha. The cruelty of different ranks of this world, he’s not going to suffer at the bottom.
“Still, you have to stop being kind and let others do that. You have someone on your side and need to raise, if you continue accepting their bad attitude sooner or later both of you will die of hunger. Also, Clyde needs to go to school.”
I stop at what she said, that thing didn’t cross my mind. I bit my lips at how I neglected to be a good mother to him, I only now realize how he always stares at children enjoying their life after school in the park.
“That’s… I’m looking for a new job, and if I land i good one then I will surely enroll him this year. Y-you know, the expenses for schooling are too much for me.” I can’t help to feel pity for myself, but what can I do?
“What did Ash think abandoning you after he got you pregnant? If only he accepts it and fi…”
Stop,” I interrupt her words, “I don’t want to hear anything about him, didn’t we talk about it, Tally? Clyde’s father is dead, he died 4 years ago.” I coldly said.
“Daddy?” Clyde looks up at me, his face is full of ice cream.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Why your face is too dirty, you will scare the kids in the park.”
“W-what? N-no way, I want to play with them.” His eyes started to water, “can you clean my face, mom? Please?” He said with his puppy eyes, he’s pleading as if his life is depending on it.
So, how can I say no when he’s acting like this?
“Fine, I will clean your face but after you finish your food.” I said, “how about you, Tally, do you want to eat something first?”
“Yes, I didn’t eat anything before coming here. Let’s go eat something before going to the park and let this little brat play to his heart’s content, what do you think?” She tilts her head waiting for my answer.
“Sure, why not? It’s your money anyway,” I chuckle, “let’s go eat, Clyde, Tally will buy your favorite cream cake.”
His eyes beam in joy, “really?” He asks excitedly, his eyes looking at Tally. “Will you buy me some cream cake?”
Tally smirks, “I will, however, you should say that I’m beautiful too.” She said, she still can’t move on to what happened earlier.
“Err-, I think you are beautiful too but not like my mom.” Clyde hesitantly replies to her, making Tally scoff.
“Tsk, still keeping your loyalty to your mom. Let’s go, maybe if I buy him many cream cakes, he will finally be considered that I’m more beautiful than you.” She jokingly said again.
“That won’t happen, though,” I confidently said.
We enter the coffee shop where they’re selling the cream cake, some of the staff already knew Clyde because we come here every single day to buy some of it. Some of them always greet him while some of them give him more cakes as gifts.
You better keep your eyes on your son, he’s gotten popular even though he’s a child what’s more when he’s become an adult can know how to drive women to get crazy.” Tally shook her head, “you will have a rough day in the future having a good-looking Alpha son, Cora.”
“It’s fine, as long his mate won’t neglect what the moon goddess wants and will be happy to be with him.” I don’t want him to be happy, unlike what happened to me.
“Gosh, I don’t know what you are. You shine so brightly in my eyes like an angel, maybe this is the reason why people in your surrounding keep bullying you.” She sighed and hug my free arms making my son’s eyebrows tangled.
“Why aunt Tally is hugging you? She doesn’t have her mama?” Clyde pouts his lips again, he is possessive.
“No, she just loves me too that’s why she’s hugging me. Just let her do whatever she wants so we can eat your cream cake, no?” I ask him.
“Hmm, all right. But love me only mom, okay?” He smiles at me but immediately looks at Tally with his grumpy face.
“Your son is really an Alpha, how territorial,” Tally whispered, but I just ignore her and help Clyde to eat the food on his plate. “Oh, by the way, if you need some work why not apply to my cousin’s house?”
“House?” I look at her, “Tally, my previous job is a small one and people are already terrible how much more when if it’s the house owned by a dominant one?”
“But he’s not that terrible, he might be a jerk sometimes but my cousin hates to discriminate.”
“So, what is the job?” If her cousin, then maybe I can trust her descriptions… Right?
“Well, he’s busy so he needs someone to clean his house and cook for him. So, you don’t need to stay there.” She explains while eating her cake. “You can say no, though if you do not feel to do the job. But I can tell you that the pay can send Clyde to school with extra money to save.”
“Telling me like that, how can I say no to the offer?” I said and chuckles, “I will think about it, it’s too bad to think if I let it slip into my hands.”
“Okay, let me know if you finally decided. I will wait for you before I search for another suitable for the job,” she assured me and play with Clyde.
I’m so thankful to have her, if not because of her, I and Clyde are not enjoying each day together. I just hope her cousin is nice like her too.
“Oh, by the way, my cousin’s name is Zafer.”
Cora’s POV“Thank you for the meal, you know I’d save the money for breakfast and lunch because of you.” I jokingly said as we walked toward the park where Clyde loves to play.“No worries, as long that little brat is happy. You know how much I love your son like my own nephew, if only I can bring you both into my house I will.” We both sat on the bench while Clyde runs towards the children who already playing, some of them already knew him.How busy I am and tired, I always keep sure that I have time to let Clyde enjoy his childhood. Going here and letting him play to make my heart at ease, seeing his bright smile while playing with other kids without any discrimination. Not thinking about once he goes to school, we are not wealthy like others. He’s an Alpha but not from a rich family, my worries every day keep adding up every single day.“What are you thinking so deeply, did you even hear what I said?” Tally is now standing while looking at her phone, “based on how confused your rea
Cora’s POVLike how Tally said on the other line last time, I am here now in front of her signing the contract. Everything written in the contract makes sense and is acceptable, plus the pay is huge more than I imagine.“So, now that you already sign the contract you have no right to back down. When do you want to start coming to his house?” She asks me while sipping her milk tea, “As I said, he’s not there for now so you will just clean the house and leave.”“When will he come back so I know when I have to cook for him, I also wanted to know what foods should I be ready for him.”She looks at her phone and gives it to me, “here, I will forward this list to you. Every week, his nutritionist will give us a list for my cousin. Oh, but don’t worry, he’s not sick or anything it’s just that the case.” She smiles awkwardly.“Is that so, then should I start today?” I said, if he left for too long, his house is now dirty.“Are you sure? Well, you can start now so I will give you this card.” S
Cora’s POVThe bed is still full of dust, but he does not care about it. His breath smells of booze, but it also does not matter to me. Just his scent is intoxicating, making my mind dazed. His hand caressed the inside of my shirt, from my belly up to my back yanking my bra without difficulty, “don’t be too tense, I’m not going to eat you for eat.” He chuckles sexily, he kisses the tip of my nips under my shirt making it wet.“N-no, don’t do that. Ah!” I can’t help but moan as he bites it gently, “s-stop, it’s hurt.” I added, between the embarrassing sound I’m making.“Are you sure it’s hurt you? Your nips perks like this as if begging for more, do you want me to stop?” He asks while kissing and licking it and suddenly stops for seconds and does it again, he’s teasing my body as if he understands it very well.“T-that’s not true, it’s really hurt when you bite me.” I put my hands to cover my face, I can feel how hot is it. I don’t know him, but here I am letting myself indulge in his
Cora’s POV“What happened to you?” Tally covers her lips as she sees me standing in front of my apartment door, “why did you let yourself soak in the rain?” She pulls me inside without worrying if the floor is wet.“I didn’t know that it will rain, I haven’t brought an umbrella, and it’s sudden pour when I’m already at the bus station.” My body is still trembling, from the nervousness and fear. What if Tally can smell his scent to me?Is it enough to hide what happened if I let my body wash in the rain? She stares at me, “then why did you run here instead of the convenience store to buy at least a disposable umbrella? Don’t use Clyde for your reason because, from the very start, you knew that I’m with him.”I sigh, “I know that you’re with him, though, this is the first time for him that I came home late. By the way, where he is?” I took the chance to change the subject, if she will keep asking me there is a high chance that I will tell her everything.“He’s already asleep, I said tha
Cora’s POVAs I woke up, I first called Tally to discuss the job, and she agreed to meet up. However, why this man is in front of me?!I look at the surrounding, we’re here in the park in front of Clyde’s school. I don’t have any idea how he gets here or maybe Tally did help him, but that is not the issue here. The last person I don’t want to see here today is him!“Did I leave you speechless? I heard about Tally that you wanted to quit as my housekeeper, but do you really think is that easy after you signed this contract?” He shows me some pictures of that day, so he’s the one she’s chatting that time.I gulp my saliva, and I look at him in the eyes with confidence, “so what do I have to do? What happened last night is a big mistake, not only on my side but yours too.” I said without hesitation, I don’t want to create a scene outside. Especially here in front of Clyde’s school.“A big mistake, really? Do you think I’m that drunk to call it my mistake?” He put both hands on his waist
Cora’s POVThree days, it’s been three days since we met that day and he asked me about the job and if I really wanted to back out. But everything he said that day is on point, so that’s why here I am putting all the dishes in Tupperware for him to reheat once he comes back.As they said, our paths did not meet even once for three days. This is good than I expected to be honest, maybe he’s not that bad… But still, knowing that he’s an Alpha; I can’t help to put a wide line between us.It is still questionable that I have a friend like Tally, so I should stop myself and put more tangles between my life and him from the start.Alphas only bring the problem to my life, my father, my ex-boyfriend, and even my boss and strangers. I’m so tired to the point that I hate every one of them without reason… I’m afraid of the consequences if I let another one in my life. But my son is an exception, of course.Done!” I exclaim as I look at all the food in the fridge, I can help but feel proud whene
Cora’s POV“Mom!” Clyde run toward me with a wide smile, “are you done with your work?” He asks as he hugs and kisses me, some of the children giggles at what he did.“Clyde and his mom are always so cute, why not kiss me like that too?” One of the mothers said to her son make his cheeks get red.“Mom! Don’t tease me, I’m too shy to do that in front of them!” He points to us and his other classmates and runs to their car, instead of chasing her son, she just chuckles and looks at me, and bows her head. “Bye, Clyde!” She said and waved her hand to us.I never expected that one of them, from a rich family, will smile like that to us and treat Clyde the same as other children. It’s very rare and uncommon, but maybe they are just born to be kind.“That’s aunt Bea, she said that I can call her that way when we’re talking to each other,” Clyde said as if he can hear all the things in my mind.“She’s nice and beautiful, right?” I reply, I can help but feel envious as a man open the door for
Cora’s POV“Are you okay, kid?” He walks toward Clyde and extends his hand to help him stand up, my son hesitates to accept it. He looks at me and I nod to approve it.“T-thank you,” he said with a low voice and immediately run and hug me, “I’m sorry mom, I didn’t mean to cause you a problem.” As he said those words, he cries like a baby. It’s been too long since the last time I heard him like this.“It’s all right, you don’t have to say sorry about the things you didn’t mean to happen. Let’s buy your cream pie and let’s go home, huh?” I said while patting his head.He just nods his head, I look at him and bow. “Thank you for helping us, you don’t have to say those words though,” I said and smile. He shrugs his shoulder, “but I can’t stand his words toward you, if only you are not friends with Tally and not my housekeeper then I won’t extend the things like that. He deserved it, after all, so don’t sweat about it.”I suddenly felt guilty, maybe he’s really nice like how Tally describe
