07. I am indeed waiting for you to be a widow

"Del, please. I beg you to help me." Brisia felt like she was dreaming. Just now, she came to her senses and immediately received threats from her husband but now she can see the figure of her guardian angel.

"There's me here, Bri. I will protect you." Delmar hugged Brisia in fear. He was afraid of hurting Brisia's body, which is looked so bad.

"B-but this is really you, isn't it, Del? It's not me who's dreaming, is it?"

Delmar relaxed his embrace. He pinched Brisia's nose lightly. "I'm real, and you're not dreaming, Bri."

Brisia's tears shed again. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I left earlier, Del. I... I..."

"Shhh. You can tell the full of your story later, after we get out of here. For now, you want to come with me, right?"

"I want to, Del. But how? I..."

"Wait, I have to contact my friend first." Delmar reached into his pocket and took a mobile phone from inside there. Fortunately, before escaping from his room earlier, he had pocketed his smartphone.

“Hello, Red.”

"Hello, Del. Where are you?! It hasn't been long since I left, you just disappeared directly."

"Sorry, Red. I have to go and now I need help from you."

"What help? You should still be resting first, Del. Where are you now?"

"I'm still in the hospital. I need your help to bring the wheelchair to the third floor. I'm waiting in room number two one two."

"Do what? Who is it for?"

"Red, please. I don't know who else to ask for help, only you hope I'm the only one. I don't have much time, Red."

Delmar could hear the harsh gasps of his friend.  "Yes, I have. Wait for me in five minutes. I'll be there soon."

Actually, Red was already going to say goodbye to go home, after being able to find Delmar family contacts who could replace him, but when he was just about to ask, his friend had disappeared.

Delmar ended his call with the word okay, and then approached Brisia back. He stared at the woman he loved so much. Last afternoon with quite a lot of bruises already made Brisia look terrible, but now it has become very terrible.

The area around Brisia's eyes was purple, her cheeks flushed not because they were flushed or exposed to the sun, but because there was a fingerprint on it. The corners of Brisia's lips also have a red line.

"I promise I'll make Juan pay for all this pain he's making, Bri. I promise," Delmar said softly which made himself and Brisia cry together. Unlike this afternoon, now their touch feels like five years ago.

Red arrived just in the fifth minute after their call ended, he came with Delmar's wheelchair.

Red didn't ask much, from Delmar's expression and the woman he didn't recognize, it was enough to show that they should leave the hospital as soon as possible.

Delmar picked up a blanket that was on the bed to cover Brisia's body, also put on the mask Red was carrying. "Bri, I have to put your hair forward, to cover your face first," he said, asking for permission because he wanted to make sure that no one could recognize Brisia.

Red was not alone, but came together with two people in all-black clothes. It was the two people who helped Delmar and Red into the elevator while watching the surrounding area that looked quiet.

Maybe that's because of the VVIP room area which does have a fairly draining price, especially with the level class of the international standard hospital, which makes it not as crowded as the usual public hospitals.

The elevator also contained no one other than Delmar, Brisia, Red and his people.

"Where are we going, Del?" asked Red. He could already guess that his friend wouldn't want to be in this hospital anymore.

"To my apartment alone, Red. I'll tell you the address."

"Are you sure? It looks like she needs enough medical attention, Del," Red retorted with a look that aimed at Brisia.

Delmar glanced at Brisia who seemed to have also heard Red's words. Brisia's eyes implied a lot of fear, and although Brisia did not explain the reason, Delmar could already guess exactly. But what Rain says also has some truth.

"I need a safe place for her, Red," Delmar replied softly.

Red nodded. "Then just take her to my family's hospital. I dare to guarantee that it will be safe for you both there."

Delmar seemed to think, he stroked the top of Brisia's head who was still staring at him. He blinked once, as if asking for permission and begging for the trust of the pale-faced woman.

"Okay, Red. I agree with your suggestion," Delmar said decided.

Red patted Delmar on the shoulder. "Don't be like that, it's as if I'm just someone else. We are friends, and you used to help me a lot. Now it's my turn to help you."

Once again Delmar thanked. The elevator directly took Delmar and his party to the basement. And miraculously, there were already cars waiting for their arrival.

Delmar was deeply grateful for asking the right person for help. He only asked for one thing but Red immediately gave everything.

Delmar carried Brisia to climb on the car, he could hear the sound of pain coming from the woman's mouth. "I'm sorry, Bri. It hurts so much, huh?"

Brisia shook her head, although in fact her ribs felt very drooling, as did her fingers which were currently fitted with a cast. Brisia remembered, indeed, that she heard the sound of bones clashing when Juan stepped on her hand.

The day was already quite late, making their trip shorter. Less than an hour on the way, they had already reached their destination.

It was Red's people who moved first, and Brisia was directly escorted to the top floor of the hospital.

"Here you and your friend will be safe. I have already advised the people who will take care of you and her just now. They are all outside the door, if there is anything you can tell them that you can't contact me."

"I don't know what to say to you, Red. I don't think gratitude will be enough."

Red chuckled lightly. "If it's easy. You just need to sketch a unique house like the mall you built in Madrid. My wife really likes the design of the building you made. And I as a good husband can never refuse a wife's request," said Red.

"It's an easy thing. After the matter is over, I will directly make what you and your wife want."

"Ready, Capt. Eh... But your other friend how? Did I move here this hospital too?"

"Yes, Red. Please help me one more time again."

"It's okay. I went back to the hospital just now first. Let me take care of the transfer of your friends, and after that I have to go home. Tomorrow I'm here again."

Delmar nodded, and then gave a masculine hug with Red. Afterwards Red said goodbye to Brisia as well, who was currently being examined by the Doctor.

***

Currently, Delmar lives alone with Brisia, the doctor has finished doing the examination. The result made Delmar even more angry. Indeed, it was just a miracle that kept Brisia breathing until now.

Brisia grabbed Delmar's hand, "It’s okey, Del. The important thing is you're next to me. I won't be afraid anymore."

"But Juan can't be allowed, Bri. We have to take this to the authorities. And the attack case I'm with Alvin as well."

"Alvin? Attack? What do you mean, Del?"

Delmar hadn't had time to explain, but if this was the case, he couldn't help but have to tell everything.

Brisia's tears shed again after a squeal from Delmar. Her biological brother fell into a coma as a result of the monster's actions under the guise of her husband. "Juan should be punished severely, Del. He must be responsible for all his deeds to me, Alvin and you."

"Yes, tomorrow I will take care of everything. And for your wedding, how about it?"

"You don't have to ask that anymore, Del. I certainly wouldn't want to live in such a toxic household anymore. And I hope, after this you will not be ashamed to befriend a widow."

Brisia's decision to divorce, inexplicably made Delmar's heart seem to get a soothing rainwater flush after a very long time of aridity. 'It's okay, Bri. I am indeed waiting for you to be a widow,' he said to hisself.
