05. Where Are You?

"Hi, Bro Stranger."

Alvin welcomed his meeting with Delmar with great joy. He hugged his best friend tightly. For five years, he hasn't greeted each other with his best friend. Delmar's departure five years ago completely cut off all forms of communication between them.

And when this afternoon suddenly Delmar contacted him, of course he was very happy. "Sorry, Del. I didn't know just now that you were the one calling. It's because I don't know your new number."

Just now Alvin was in a meeting, indeed had ignored the call from Delmar. And only then did he answer when Delmar sent a message and said who he was.

Delmar shook his head. "It's not your fault, Al. I did change my cell phone number a long time ago," Delmar said after releasing a hug from Alvin.

"That's not a problem, the important thing is that you are still willing to contact me. So you're here because you're on vacation or are you fully back here?" asked Alvin again.

Delmar shook his head. "I'm on leave, Al. Sorry it's not that I don't want to chat with you for a long time, but there is an important thing I want to talk to you about."

Seeing the super serious look on Delmar's face, made Alvin follow suit. "What's the problem?"

"Have you met Bri lately?"

"Bri? Brisia, my little sister?"

Delmar nodded quickly. But Alvin's answer made him stunned.

"I haven't seen Brisia in the past few months, Del. Since getting married, she's seemed to shy away from me and our parents. Brisia rarely wants to get together with family, unless there are major family events. It won't be long either, especially since she always never wants to be separated from her husband," Alvin explained.

"You know Bri's address?" asked Delmar directly. He must find Brisia as soon as possible, he is sure that what he thinks is not wrong.

Alvin nodded. "But what do you want, Del? Hmm... I mean, you still remember that Brisia has..."

Delmar nodded. "I understand what you mean. I wouldn't disturb the Bri household if they were really happy. But that's not what concerns me now. I met Bri in the hospital this morning."

"Hospital? Brisia is sick?"

Delmar sighed. "Brisia said she wasn't sick, but what I saw showed the opposite."

Then Delmar said everything to Alvin. All so that he can move faster. He had to save later. Alvin also agreed, after a brief explanation from his best friend, they rushed to Juan and Brisia's apartment.

Alvin said goodbye to his staff and immediately set out to find Brisia. And when he arrived, Alvin rang the bell of the apartment that his younger sister and her husband lived in. But there was nothing wrong with it. It made the two even more worried.

"Al, call Bri or Juan!" asked Delmar, who was even more afraid. His hands also did not stop knocking and also pressing the bell that was near the door. His hunch was very unpleasant.

Alvin did the thing Delmar’s ask.  Once on the phone, Juan didn't answer his call but only then did  his Brother-in-law answer.

"Hello, Al," Juan said from the other side.

"Hi, Juan. I'm in front of your apartment.  I want to meet Brisia. I have contacted her but Brisia did not answer."

Juan was silent for a while, but then replied. "Hmm... Al.  Brisia today left for Singapore."

"Singapore?"

"Yes. She said she wanted to go out with her friend. Brisia set off a few hours ago."

Alvin was silent, as did Delmar who was listening, as Alvin set his call to loudspeaker mode.

Delmar's forehead wrinkled, this is strange. Even very strange. Brisia's condition showed that Brisia could not suddenly go abroad.

"Juan, what time does Brisia leave? There are important things I want to talk to my sister," Alvin said again.

"Hmm... I forgot about it, Al. I'll try to check the ticket back later. It's been a long time, well, I'm in an important meeting."

Juan disconnected their phone unilaterally. It made Alvin and Delmar even more upset.

"I can't believe Juan's talk!" said Aliando directly.

Alvin nodded in agreement. "And so, it is with me. But where should we Brisia go?"

"Everywhere, Al. Even to the end of the world, the origin of Brisia can be found. We have to move quickly, Al." Hurried the two left the apartment building. They have to do something even if they don't know what it is.

While elsewhere, Juan was looking at his wife who was being examined by several medical personnel. He was very angry just now, jealousy made him really almost kill Brisia.

Fortunately, Juan quickly realized that his wife was unconscious when he pulled Brisia's drooping body. Although very angry, but seeing Brisia's miserable condition made Juan afraid and worried.

Finally, with the help of some of his men, Juan took Brisia to the hospital that was used to dealing with his wife.

"She almost died. You've gone crazy huh?!" said Doctor Airina.

"I didn't intentionally," Juan said with a glare.

"You accidentally said? It's not the first time, and it's getting worse. You are sick, Juan. You should consult a Psychiatrist. If this continues, sooner or later you can kill Brisia."

Juan stared at Airina fiercely. "For that I pay you and this hospital very expensively. To always be able to save my wife, and hide this thing. My mental health issues, that's my business," he said, holding the Doctor's arm very firmly.

Airina shuddered in horror with a squeal from the pain in her arm. She was Juan's faculty friend in medicine. It's just that in the middle of the sixth semester, Juan changed faculties on the grounds that he wanted to major in management, in order to continue his family company.

After that Airina never engaged in any communication with Juan, until four years ago when Juan ran in fear to the hospital where she worked.

At that time Juan took his unconscious wife. But strangely Juan's wife was not injured in an accident but because of persecution. At that time, Airina asked Juan for an explanation, and intended to report her friend to the authorities.

But Airina's intentions had to be undone because Juan threatened that the man would get her fired by the hospital, and would not let Airina get a job elsewhere.

Airina had to be afraid because the hospital where she worked belonged to the Juan family, and indeed the influence of the Juan family was so strong that it could do anything to hinder Airina's career as a Doctor.

At first, Airina feels sorry for Brisia, but the more Brisia visits her room for treatment, the feeling begins to disappear. And it ended up being so-so. It may be true that someone said that Airina's empathy had begun to disappear, or it could be that she was a cold-hearted human being. But Airina also has her own problems.

It wasn't that Airina had never advised Brisia to leave Juan, but Brisia said she couldn't do that. Airina didn't know what because Brisia loved Juan too much, or there were other threats. Airina chose not to seek further for her own safety.

"Tell me that my wife is already sober, I have to leave now. And if anyone is looking for Brisia all the way here, say no. Don't let anyone know Brisia is here, do you understand?!"

After saying so, Juan left the hospital. He had to go back to the office, because he didn't want Alvin to look for him there and found himself not in the office and increasingly suspected of Brisia's whereabouts.

"Mark!" Juan made a phone call to his personal assistant.

"Yes, sir."

"Make a ticket in my wife's name, a flight to Singapore today. The time is about eleven o'clock to two o'clock in the afternoon. Quickly send it to me immediately! Another one, look for a person named Delmar Justo Gualterio. Give him an important lesson he cannot forget in his entire life."

Mark no longer asks because he has already done such a thing. Meanwhile, Juan just smiled crookedly as he walked out of the hospital.

"Those people won't be able to find you, Dear Bri. And that beloved friend of yours, I will make him regret returning to this country. He should still be gone like these five years!" hissed Juan with his devilish face.
