2. INTOXICATED

-VIVIAN

I gasped.

My hand went up to the spot on my neck. My legs began to tremble and they could not support my weight anymore. I went down on my knees immediately.

“That's right! You deserve to be on your knees and worship me! That is where you belong,” Scarlett exclaimed. Her breasts vibrated as she spoke. She was still naked before me and she was not even trying to get clothes on.

My vision started to blur and my breaths turned into heavy pants. Soon enough, even my fingers started to vibrate. My vision became shaky and I found it hard to focus.

“Next time, before you mess with anyone; you'd check twice,” Scarlett muttered and found her clothes.

She threw in her dress and blew me a kiss before walking out of the room.

My body soon became drenched with sweat. I felt a fire burning within me and at the same time, I felt a coldness sipping into me. I started to hear voices and see things.

My name was called multiple times and images of people started jumping before my eyes. I could not focus on anything. There was a very loud annoying noise building up in the room. It felt as if a plane was about to take flight. I thought I was losing my mind.

I got on my feet and tried to walk but it was so hard. My panting increased and I felt as if I was I was drowning. I felt as if I was too deep in the water and my oxygen supply had been cut off.

The airplane noise in my ears became too loud and I could not bare it anymore. So I ran out of the room.

At this point, the world was spinning and I felt as if I was floating at the same time. I found myself tumbling down the stairs but strangely, I did not fall. Maybe I floated down; I could not tell.

The voices in my head had become too loud. What had they done to me? What had they injected into my system? There was no answer.

I soon found myself outside and I continued to stagger around. I was losing what was left of my sanity.

“Are you okay Ma’am?” A voice that resembled Gregory's asked.

It echoed over and over again in my head and it did not stop. I kept hearing his voice and worst of all, his head looked like it had moved to his feet and the place that was supposed to have his head now housed his fingers.

He looked like a monster. I screamed and ran out of the gates.

“Ma’am! Wait!” Gregory screamed and tried to come after me.

I widened my eyes in shock. The monster was about to chase me. “No! Stay the fuck away from me!” I yelled and continued running down the street.

I noticed that everyone I passed in the floating world looked strange like Gregory. I had either lost my mind or the world had probably been taken over by aliens. It had to be aliens.

So I kept running because my life depended on it. The world kept floating. My vision kept shaking. My body continued to tremble and I continued to see monsters everywhere.

I did not know it when I entered the road until it was already too late. A car honked at me and hit me.

The world stopped spinning. My body stopped trembling. My breathing started to slow as I laid on the ground. My vision was beginning to darken as I saw only the blue sky above me.

“Oh my God! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?” A man demanded and I saw his face as he looked down at me.

He had gelled black hair, a strong jawline. Rosy pink lips and eyes that penetrated into my soul. He was a handsome man and even in my sorry state, I felt my heart flutter but that was the last thing I saw before darkness finally claimed me.

A smile found its way to my lips as I lost consciousness.

I heard Mason’s voice. I heard screams. Echoes of a madness seized my dreams. Weird images floated around my head. I thought I would drown. I was already drowning.

Until I gasped awake.

I sat upright abruptly and wanted to jump out of bed when somebody held me down.

“Take it easy Miss, its okay. You're safe,” his voice assured me.

I tilted my head towards the voice and saw that it was the same man I had seen before I blacked out. I looked around the room. It looked like I had been admitted into the hospital. All the walls were painted white and I was dressed in pale blue clothes. Yet I still wanted to be sure about my location.

“Where am I?” I asked and the moment I talked, I was hit with a sharp migraine.

It intensified and I only squeezed my eyes in pain until it started to float away. He noticed my pain and put a hand on my back to soothe me.

“You are in the hospital,” he announced softly.

I parted my lips at the information. What had happened? Did something happen to my baby?

“My baby! Is my baby fine? Did I lose it?” I screamed in fear.

“You're pregnant? The doctor will come in by himself to explain more,” the man assured me.

It felt like torture waiting as I placed my hand on my stomach. I had just gotten to know I was pregnant. I could not lose my child.

“What's your name?” the man asked.

“Vivian. Vivian Colbert Moore,” I answered.

“So you are the Mason Moore's wife? How do you cope with him?” he demanded with disgust in his eyes.

“What is your name?” I asked.

He stared at me and chuckled. “It is classified, I can't tell you,” the man answered.

I scoffed at him and decided to wait for the doctor to show up. He was taking longer than expected. Eventually, he walked through the door of my room.

“Ah! I see she has awoken,” the doctor began. This one was young compared to my old doctor.

He reached my bed and checked my pulse. He checked my vitals and wrote down some things on his report sheet.

“She does not have any severe injuries aside from the one on her head, yes?” The man demanded.

I caught a sight of his hand and saw that they were tatooed all over. He had the air of a dangerous man yet I wanted to dwell with him.

“No, she does not have any injuries that are severe because of the accident. You have nothing to fear but as you Vivian; well I have some bad news,” the doctor announced.

I exhaled sharply. “Did something happen to my baby?” I demanded in shock.

This was the last thing I wanted to hear. I could not bare the shock of losing my baby at this critical time. Tears started to fill my eyes as I was getting ready to cry.

“Liquid cocaine was injected into your body system. Your body tried fighting it but it could not. In the end, it resulted to protecting the baby,” he explained.

I stared back at the the doctor in shock. Was he about to tell me that the baby died? I stared at him in horror. My baby could not die. He was strong. He could survive anything.

“My baby is alive, right?” I demanded when I could not take the suspense no more.

“Your baby is fine for now. But as you near delivery date, you will suffer seizures and contractions because of the effect of the cocaine,” the doctor explained. “If the complication is too much to handle, then your child might not survive the delivery,” the doctor added.

I gasped at the news. I shook my head in denial. “My baby will not die! He'll survive it!” I exclaimed in shock.

So Mason had injected me with cocaine! Was this the gift he had gone to get me? How could he do this to me?

Everything was all a lie. I have been living a lie. He did not care about me. He did not love me. Scarlett was right, I would never be enough to satisfy him. He would keep going outside to look for more.

I broke into tears as I could not find myself and anymore. I felt betrayed. I felt used. I was just another item that Mason had acquired. I meant nothing to him. Why did I fall for his lies?

There was only myself to blame.

“It's okay, you'll be fine,” the man from earlier patted me.

“You don't understand. I caught my husband cheating on me today and they injected me with the cocaine! I feel betrayed! He's been lying to me all this while. I don't want to be here. I just want to run away!” I cried.

The man stared at me for a long time. “I'm Damon Martinez but you can call me Damon,” he suddenly said.

I looked at him in surprise. “I thought you said you could not disclose it?” I asked him.

“What if I told you that I could take you away from him and give you a new life? A life where you have independence working for me and you don't have to put up with your incompetent husband?” he demanded.

I parted my lips at him. I stared at him for a long time. I stopped crying as I processed the information. I had nowhere to go. I had no other person to turn to aside Mason.

I lost my parents at a tender age, which made me an helpless orphan and I met Mason when I was still a teenager. Somehow, I ended up marrying him because I thought he was my knight in shining armor.

I did not know who this man was but for some reason, I trusted him. I believed what he had to say. He looked dangerous. His aura was thick with danger yet I felt drawn to this man with penetrating eyes that saw into my soul.

So I accepted the offer.

“I will come with you. . .”
