An Easy Kill

We were on our way to the devil's canyon.

The air was still misty like last night and my hands were still cold and shaky from sitting out for a long time. We were in the middle of traffic. Rodriguez kept on playing Mexican songs. Including the ones award winning ones.

A certain fear had grown on Rodriguez concerning last night's event. My neck still hurt from the force he used to break my jewellery. I glanced at him and I noticed he was concentrated on his driving.

Damon made sure he got me another after the success of this mission.

I looked away, the cars started moving again and Rodriguez sped off.

"How do you feel knowing you are about to kill the man who you once loved? After he betrayed you?" He asked with a serious tone.

He reduced the tune to ten percent. Nevertheless, it still played.

I heaved a sigh before I looked into the window, "it is not a good feeling, I didn't expect I would have been the one to kill him," I replied honestly.

"Why didn't you tell Damon to give me instead?" Rodriguez questioned evident that he was bothered by discomfort. He was never this caring which was strange.

"I can do the job and I will do the job," I assured more of myself.

"I hear you," He snickered.

My entire body was equipped with the best knives we had at the base. Apart from my all black attire i had a face mask and gloves for finger print protection. The gloves was not the type to ease of the cold in my hands. I pressed my lips together as i looked up. For some reasons I felt nervous.

Rodriguez's phone dinged and I stared at it.

He tossed me his phone and I opened it. He couldn't text while he was driving, so I answered the message for him.

"It's the instructions." He made known.

"She's pretty, who is she? Your wife?" I pryed ignoring him.

"I lost my lover a few years ago," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez was in his middle thirties. He had no wrinkles or white hair. He was fit and muscular.

Damon had a thing for good looking workers.

"She burnt in her house due to a gas fire, I buried her ashes and I mourned her for three months," He paused.

I watched him closely as he spoke, interested in his story.

"Do you know what happened next Vivian?" He asked. "No, I don't," I answered with a nod.

He chuckled as he entered a U turn and increased his speed.

"I saw her in a restaurant," He licked his lower lips and glanced shortly at me before he continued talking.

"At first I couldn't believe my eyes but she was really there, I tried to rub my eyes and i looked away but she was still there. She was alone, I wanted to go sit with her but i hesitated and stayed behind," He recounted.

"Everyday I came there to see her but she never noticed me. I never actually took long just five to ten minutes, i never bothered to know why she even came there at first," He said as he came to a stop. It was the road officers they were checking for IDs.

We got where they were and he brought out his driver's licence and they let him pass.

"Then what happened after that? Did you go and try to talk to her? About what really happened?"

"I was scared of the truth, maybe she was going to stop coming to the restaurant and I was going to lose her for the second time," Silence surrounded us.

"How did it end?" Curiosity killed me.

"One day I came later than usual cause I ran out gas, and I searched the restaurant for her and she wasn't there. Disappointed, I left but I saw her outside kissing another man, I got angry and i yelled her name," He exhaled with a shaky breath.

"She shook with fear and came to her and strangled her, I wanted to kill her but the people around me held me back and stopped me. She looked at me and asked me who I was," I gasped in the middle of his narration.

"Some one asked me what the heck was wrong and I explained to them what happened, she called me insane, and mad. Also delusional, but I understood. She had amnesia. So I left," He said.

"She's out there living the best of her life and I'm here, lol," He said. "Killing people for a living," He chuckled.

"Don't fall in love, that's all I can say, if you're not able to do it. Call me so I can take credit,"

We came few feets away from the devil's crib.

"Why aren't we shooting him instead? Why do you have to infiltrate his home and stab him?" Rodriguez asked.

It sounded almost impossible but I had done something like that before. It was easier than shooting as long as I don't get caught.

"It's impossible to use the other buildings without getting unnoticed, this is the house of a billionaire, it's fucking guarded from outside," I tried to knock some sense into his head.

"Oh right, I am so blind that I can't see the men in black," He replied sarcastically.

I looked out at the white duplex, it was designed one of the most renowned architect in the world. She is also known to have worked with popular companies in the world.

I remember her words clearer than mine.

"The simplicity outside and the unmatched beauty inside represented mark Moore, He looked simple but was one of the richest men," She said as she placed her hands on her waist.

Mark Moore was Mason's father. She designed it after Mason's request. He had a very strong relationship with his father before he died.

"We need a distraction."

I came down while Rodriguez managed to distracted them away from the gate.

I threw my bag on my back before I walked to the gate. I couldn't pass through the fence because it was bulgar proof and it was hard for Harry to deactivate it without him being here.

I could only access the house with the thumb print match. I had mine and Mason's. I tried with my thumb and it worked. It gave me access. The cameras of the house had been disabled by some of Harry's Friends.

I walked into the house and it was more familiar than the last time I left the house. I heard his voice from the house and I hid behind one of the bushes.

He came out still on the phone, he dropped the trash bag in the thrash bin outside before he came back in. He looked more attractive and he didn't age a bit.

He walked back inside and he still didn't notice me. I waited atleast an hour before I walked into the house. The guards were back outside but their backs faced the gates instead.

The lights were switched off. He still used the lemon and roses house spray I used for the house. I ignored the fact and walked deeper into the house.

My pictures were still up on the wall including my wedding pictures. I squeezed my eyes as I felt a bit dizzy. All the maids around the house were gone. Including the gate keeper.

I remembered the last time we encountered it didn't end well. The lights to his room were still active on meaning he was still awake. I stood at the corner and tapped into the earpiece.

"Position?" Rodriguez asked.

"I'm in, the target is still woke. I have to hold back," I spoke silently.

"The guards at the gate?" I asked.

"Just tell me when it's done so I'll clear for you, it's that simple," He said and it went off.

He was back to being arrogant.

I saw the lights go off. It was automatic., Meaning he was asleep.

I inhaled sharply before i tipped toe to the top of the stairs. I tried to open the knob but it was locked.

I reached in my hair for a pin to pick the lock and I walked in. He slept peacefully on the bed with the covers to his waist. I watched as his chest rose.

A strong headache hit me and my vision became slightly blurry as I stared at the soon to the corpse. I leaned on the door to not lose my balance.

I felt a sharp pang on the spot he injected me and a tear drop stained my cheeks.

He was sleeping peacefully while I suffered on the hospital bed with nobody to besides me. While he had everything with his side chick.

I wished she was here at this moment so I could kill her together with him.

I regained my composure and bent to my knee to grab the little dagger I placed there.

Mason was the average heavy sleeper.

I mounted on the bed with him in the middle, I brought the two knifes to his neck and I did the necessary.

A quiet death.
