Chapter 3

The glass vase shattered with a crunch.

The ruthless look on Jean’s face scared the hell out of Selena, who covered her mouth and dared not utter a cry.

Patrick stumbled to the ground, hands on the head as with blood oozing out through the gaps of his fingers. He felt the world spun around him.

Jean dropped the broken glass vase. “Why the hell did you do? Didn’t you know me in the first place? You took me for a ride and treated me like your ATM. Now you try to shift the blame? Patrick, did you underestimate me, or were you too confident of yourself?”

Selena sobbed as she helped Patrick up. “You lunatic, Jean. Who gave you the right to use violence?”

Jean’s eyes reddened with anger. “Shut up! Or else, you will be next!”

It again scared Selena.

Jean pointed at Patrick. “I don’t care now. You had better show up at the wedding tomorrow and don’t humiliate me. Or else, I will post the video on the Internet.”

They thought that was all of it. But Jean was secretly planning to give them a big surprise tomorrow. She would not let those who hurt her go unpunished.

Selena bit her lip in anger. “How can you do this? Patrick wanted to marry you just because of your fame. Do you think he really likes a woman like you?”

“So what?” Jean looked at her with knifelike eyes. “I remember you said that your parents are middle school teachers. I wonder what their reactions would be if they knew their daughter was sleeping with someone else’s fiancé. Do you want me to send this video to your relatives and friends and let them watch your performance? If you humiliate me in public, I will bring your family along with me!”

Selena shivered. Her parents were teachers, and reputation was of utmost importance to them.

They would surely kill her if they knew about this.

“Now, get the hell out of my house, and show up on time at the wedding tomorrow. Otherwise…”

Jean smirked as Patrick and Selena shivered.

She knew that being merciful to others would only cause her own downfall.

After Patrick and Selena left, she sat alone in the house for a long while.

She swept away everything on the coffee table with anger, and her depressed, choked cry echoed in the house.

It was not until a long while later that she started to calm down and called her manager, Jenny Jackson.

“Hey, Jenny, invite reporters to the wedding tomorrow. I want a live stream of the entire event.”
