Jared stared at me without saying anything. He'd been doing so since he found Vincent lying on the floor, unconscious. Jared wasn't asking me questions, but I knew his mind was full of unanswered questions. I wouldn't be surprised if he had doubts about the fact that Vincent had collapsed all of a sudden. He probably believed I had done something to him. The problem was that I had no idea what had really happened between us right before he passed out. I felt like I had blacked out. I couldn't remember walking back to the pack house or talking to Alpha Vincent. I was just as confused as Jared. I knew he wouldn't believe me even if I told him. It's why I kept my mouth shut and continued to bear the weight of Jared's sceptical gaze. Eventually, he broke the heavy silence.

"What did you do to him?"
