Alpha Syrill's POV

The next few days are filled with tense preparations as we continue to plan and strategize. We gather as much information as we can about the old woman and her abilities, hoping to find a weakness we can exploit.

Beta Kryl returns from his trip, bringing with him new reinforcements from neighboring packs. We are stronger now, but still, the thought of Ansin out there, in the hands of the old woman, weighs heavily on us all.

One night, as I sit alone in my office, pouring over maps and notes, I feel a sudden presence behind me. I turn to see Angela standing there, her eyes red from crying.

"What's wrong?" I ask, standing up and walking over to her.

"I can't help but feel like this is my fault," she says, her voice shaking. "If I hadn't gone into labor early, if we had just stayed at home, none of this would have happened."
