Signed

Sophia's POV

I am currently in a Limousine with the boss only a few feet away from me, heading to my apartment to go meet with his grandfather.

I am still in a daze as I recounted what had happened only some minutes before.

---

"I... I'll sign it." I said, sighing in defeat and I saw the twinkle of satisfaction in his eyes.

"Good. Noah, the contract." He ordered.

Noah, who had been minding his business a few feet away walked up to us with a file in hand. He stood in front of me and handed me the file before walking away.

My eyes returned to the boss when he said, "you are free to read before signing. If there's any clause that you disagree with, you can say."

I nodded and opened the contract to scan through, "You will be with me for three years! Section 1, do not fall in love with me!" He stated and I nodded, my eyes going back to the contract.

'Section 1: You are not in any way allowed to have any romantic feelings whatsoever for the contractee. This agreement should be strictly professional.

Section 2: No sort of information on this contract should be disclosed to anyone but the parties involved.

Section 3: Physical touch should be avoided unless in public places and necessary occasions.

Section 4: The contractor will move in with the contractee a week after the signing of the contract and the two parties will share a bed, a house and other things that the contractee agrees to.

Section 5: The two parties will stay away from each other's personal life and not be involved in each other's privacy, but the contractee has every right to go through the contractor's phone and technological items.

Section 6: The contractee has every right to decide how the other party dresses, talks and acts.

Section 7: Personal distance should be apparent in every situation.

Section 8: The two parties are to remain faithful to the marriage until the end of the contract, there should be no romantic relationships outside the marriage. Both parties should thereby cut ties immediately after the signing of the contract.

Section 9: The two parties will be in a marriage for three years and two months and the marriage certificate will be registered a month after the signing of the contract.

Section 10: Termination of the contract results in whatever punishment the contractee decides on.'

Those were only a few of the rules I had to follow.

I raised my head to the boss who had his gaze fixed on me, "I have a problem with section 5 and 6. Why should you have to search my stuff and tell me how to live my life while I have to stay away from your personal life?" I asked.

He turned his head to Noah who answered my questions, "you can not be entirely trusted so your phone and technological items will have to be thoroughly checked just in case you decide to reveal anything regarding the contract to anyone. Also, as anything can damage the reputation of the business, we can not afford you to act or talk out of line and regarding the way you dress... Justin can not be associated with anyone who dresses like a homeless person."

Ouch! Did he just indirectly say I dress like a homeless person?

"So those sections are justified." He completed it.

"But that means I have no right to how I'm supposed to live and I have no privacy. That's not fair." I complained.

The boss decided to intervene at this moment as he turned to me, "you have no say in this. It is either you sign the contract or," he took a pause with his brows raised, daring me.

I understood what he meant, "fine! I will sign it." I said and he smirked.

Noah handed me a pen and I grabbed it. I was about to sign it when I rethought the decision.

Was I actually going to just sign myself off like this, for three years? But if I did not that meant letting my brother die and I could not live with that. He had also said I would probably be killed by Amelia, who was the lady whose room I had cleaned, if I didn't have his protection. But I could also get five million dollars! Me and my brother could live the life we always wanted. The pros were greater than the cons, and it is only for three years.

I took a deep breath and signed it. "There!"

"Good, we are done with this. The next step is to meet my grandfather." The boss said, getting up.

"Why are we going to see your grandfather?" I asked, handing the contract to Noah as I got up too.

"He is going to test you." He replied.

---

And that is how I arrived here, looking out the shielded windows as the press circled the Limo, asking lots of questions.

My heart repeatedly hammered on my chest when the Limo started moving.

If someone as dangerous as him was afraid of his grandfather, then exactly how dangerous was his grandfather that he had to marry me?

And why did his grandfather want him to marry me, of all the rich mistresses in the world? How would he test me? What if I fail and the boss decides to take back his offer? What if I can't save my brother? What about Liam? Did our love really die just like that?

Different thoughts roamed my mind and I took a deep breath, clutching on to the end of my top.

I turned to look at the boss who was focused on his phone, most probably busy with business related stuff.

I had never seen anyone look as handsome in my life. His face was stern, serious as he glared at his phone but at the same time, he couldn't look any more attractive.

Suddenly, he said, "It's rude to stare."

I could feel my cheeks get hot as I whipped my head away in embarrassment.

The Limo suddenly stopped and the driver notified us, "we've arrived at the mansion boss."
