MATED TO AN ALPHA AND A DEMON
Author: Shari Vibes

Prologue

I, Muriel Oliver, reject you, Alpha Lucian Logan as my mate. I will hate you forever,” I said directly into Lucian’s eyes, glaring fearlessly at him.

I watched as a sinister smile crept to his face as he stepped toward me and lifted my chin.

“I, Alpha Lucian Logan, accept your rejection,” he declared. “But when the drama gets twisted, don’t beg to be loved,” he warned. His hot breath penetrated my skin.

Just like a dream or hallucination, I felt someone’s presence in my room. His intoxicating sweet fragrance filled my nostrils. It was a usual fragrance I came to fall in love with, but how come I could sense it in my dream? I turned over on the bed. Then I felt him canopying over me. I turned over again and his hot breath fanned my face. I inhaled the sweet fragrance that keeps me wet at night and a smile crept to my face. What has Russell done to me? He has taken a space in my head, feeding me with pleasure. His eyes, how can I forget? His shimmering blue eyes seem to pull me in every time I stare at them. What about his cherry-soft lips? The way he kisses me all the time replayed constantly in my head. I drooled at the thought, pulling the bedsheet closer to myself.

“Muriel?” I heard his sweet voice, whispering my name in the most softest and appealing tone ever. I could hear him too. “Muriel?” he called again. Huh? It was real. He was here again? This isn’t how he always appears. I popped my eyes open. He was all over me, supporting his body up against mine.

“Uggggg?” I gasped. I stared into his captivating eyes, how innocent and enchanting. Yes, that’s the word. His eyes enchant me. I closed my eyes, hoping to get him off my head and stop hallucinating. I opened my eyes again and he was smiling at me. Was it a reality? “Russell?” I called out, surprised. I thought I was possibly dreaming.

“Hi, Muriel, I’m back again,” he smiled, sending shivers of warmth over my body with his eyes scanning my eyes down to my lips.

“W…what are you doing here? How…come you…” he shut me up by capturing my lips in his. I shut my eyes, allowing our lips to blend smoothly into each other. Butterflies filled my stomach as he deepen the kiss. It’s usual, but every time, it feels anew like we have never kissed before. “Huuuhhh!” I sighed heavily as he stopped.

“I missed you,” he expressed and leaned in once again, caressing my waist with his magical hand that sends chills down my spine. His touch always sends sparks through my body, making me want him more. Our chemistry was one of a kind. Just then, the door swung open. The sound hit my chest like a fallen rock, hitting the ground. Russell, in a flash, shot his hand at the door, turning his face to the door. There was a sudden give-off of magical force. Lucian stood at the door. My heart did a thumbs up then banged my chest severally. He was my so-called mate, the Alpha of the Bluemoon pack, the all-powerful, as referred to by many other Alphas. And here I am, with another man, not just a man, but a demon, the soon-to-be demon king. I looked at Russell, he winked at me and got off me. I sprang up immediately. Lucian moved toward me, sniffing his nose. He stopped, looking around the room. I stood with my eyes popping out. I looked at Russell, who was now standing on the other side of the bed with one of his legs resting against the wall and his arms firmly folded across his chest. I turned my face to Lucian, he stared at me with narrowed eyes in suspicion.

“Who was here?” Lucian queried in a calm unusual tone. He has never spoken softly to me before. I looked at Russell, he shrugged his shoulders. Lucian wasn’t seeing him, which means he manipulated him. I chuckled inwardly then wore a straight face. I moved back from him, playing the innocent type while entwining and playing with my fingers. He took a few more steps closer, I moved back till I had my back leaned against the wall. My heartbeat rose and dropped at the same time. I stylishly looked at Russell, he stood in a defensive stance with a clenched fist and fiery eyes. If anything goes wrong, I’m certain he will interfere and that will be catastrophic. My heart began pounding heavier. Lucian wasn’t normal, just an irrational being, anything can happen at any time. Not mostly good things though hardly heard that about him. And here stood Russell, a demon. Lucian stood a breath away with one of his hands resting against the wall beside my ear and the other took hold of my hand. I gasped. I sensed jealousy radiating from Russell. He will interfere. Lucian gazed deeply into my eyes rarely and emotionally. His amber eyes glowed, twinkling with stardust. I have never seen Lucian’s eyes glow so innocently before. Niamh pranced up and down. Finally, her mate was noticing her differently. Niamh was my wolf.

“Muriel?” Lucian called gently. I couldn’t believe my name could make sense, having to hear it from Lucian of all people, the Alpha of Alphas. I wonder why the Moon Goddess chose us to be mates. An Alpha and an Omega. Not just that, but childhood enemies. That doesn’t make any sense to me. “I’m sorry,” he stated. I have never imagined Lucian saying that to me, not even in a nightmare. “I want to make this work,” he declared in the most genuine voice I have ever heard him say. What works after a rejection? I scoffed inwardly. “Let’s bury the hatchet. Forget the rejection, I’m fully accepting you back as my mate. I want you to be my Luna. Let’s rule Bluemoon pack together as Alpha and Luna, and as mates that we are,” Lucian stated. I looked over to Russell, he was burning, shaking his head as a hint for me not to accept Lucian’s words. “Come on, sweetheart, let’s bond our relationship. I love you now, more than ever,” Lucian confessed, his eyes firmly defining his words. Niamh exclaimed loudly, jumping up and down in excitement, hearing the confession of her mate after a bitter rejection. She was on cloud 9. Has Lucian changed? Did Beta Neil talk him into this?

“Don’t listen to him, Muriel,” Russell’s words sounded like a whisper into my ears. I bet he was in my head again, manipulating me to hear him while Lucian can’t. Russell moved to Lucian’s side. I was confused. My head began throbbing. “He is just pretending because the Beta and Gamma are urging him to accept you back. I love you, Muriel, don’t accept him,” Russell begged.

“I honestly love you, Muriel, let me mark you and I will make you happy forever. Believe me,” Lucian assured.

“Don’t listen to him,” Russell interjected.

“Accept me back, let me mark you,” Lucian pressed on.

“Don’t let him!” Russell pushed on.

Their words were rumbling in my head while their lips movements flicked across my face like a revolving object. I looked between them till I felt dizzy. I pushed Lucian and he stumbled back. I covered my ears immediately with my hands.

“Aaaaaaaaa!” I screamed out like a banshee wailing while shaking my head. My voice hit the walls like thunderstruck, shaking everything in the room and vibrating the Earth itself. The two men quivered a bit.

“Go away from me!” I barked at Lucian, pointing an angry finger at him.

“Come on, Muriel,” Lucian said, trying to come close once more.

“Stop right there!” I groaned and he halted in his tracks. Being angry gave me some authority. “You two should get out of here. Leave me alone!” I wailed. The smile on Russell’s face faded out while Lucian wrinkled his forehead in confusion. I felt Niamh whimpering sadly, it’s not time to listen to her.

“Muriel?” I heard Russell’s voice in my head.

“Get lost! Aaaaagh!” I screamed at them, dropping down to the floor in hot tears. Lucian knew better than to persist, he left. Russell watched me weep for a few minutes before disappearing the same way he appeared. It hurts. I was boiling. If Lucian hadn’t mistreated me, I wouldn’t have met Russell. And if Russell hadn’t wanted to mark me, I wouldn’t have returned to the Bluemoon pack. Everything began with Lucian’s hostility.
