“Oh, no!” I muffled. It was Luna Glenda and her handmaid. I shifted back on the floor. Her deep glaring eyes made me almost pee my pants. I shuddered as I forced myself up, looking down to the floor.
“You filthy thing!” Luna Glenda groaned, striding forward and grabbing my bleeding arm tightly.“Ow!” I exclaimed. Tears fell from my eyes.“You dare break my plates!” she groaned again, her voice cutting through my face, sending shivers down my spine. “I won’t spare you!” she yelled and freed my hand, making me fall back to the floor. She turned to her handmaid. “Call Grey and make sure she gets no food for two days!” she commanded and went off. I hope death comes to me within those two days. Grey will never spare me. Grey was the chief guard, in charge of the dungeon in the deepest part of the pack. I have never been there, but everyone that has been sentenced there never comes out alive. What was my offense? What did I do wrong? The Luna simply has a special hatred for me in her heart and I wonder why. The handmaid crouched in front of me. She held my cheek and fondled my jaw. Tears streamed down my cheeks uncontrollably.“Don’t cry, dear, you will be fine,” the handmaid assured. I nodded and she held me up. She led me to Grey in the dungeon. He stood like a mighty villain, glaring into space like he was fighting with nature. He was a huge, brawny man with hard facial features. He had his blonde hair gelled to the back. Hearing our footsteps, he turned abruptly to us and I hid behind the handmaid. His eyes were drops of chestnut that glowed fearlessly. I shivered, looking at him.“What brings you here?” he asked in a husky tone that got Niamh crawling back inside of me.“The Luna,” the handmaid said and looked at me beside her. “Keep her till she gives her next judgment. But…” She moved closer to him, staring into his eyes. “Don’t hurt her,” she told him in a soft sweet voice that forced a small laugh on Grey’s face.“As you wish,” he accepted calmly. The handmaid looked at me. She held my hand and pulled me to her side.“Don’t worry, Muriel, you will be fine with him,” she assured me. I nodded. She looked back at Grey and went away. Grey stared at me. I looked down, holding the sides of my dress. He moved toward me, I began taking a few steps back. He stood a few days distance, his eyes traced my head down to my toe.“Come,” he said, walking away. I followed him up without objection.~Lucian~After the harsh punishment imposed on Muriel, she disappeared. I wonder where she had gone. I haven’t seen her since that day. Well, seeing her helpless gives me joy. How dare she? She is always bold, acting too smart, and oppressing me in school. She was just an Omega, she shouldn’t possess such wit to downgrade me. For every reason, I hate her. I headed to my mother’s room. I wanted to find out where she sent Muriel. I knew she was behind her disappearance. I opened the door and entered. She was seated in front of the vanity table, wiping off her makeup.“Learn to knock, son,” she corrected as she glanced at me.“Not in my mother’s room,” I declared, moving close to her with a full-moon smile on my face.“A woman’s room you meant to say,” she smiled at me.“My mother comes first before the woman in her,” I argued, standing beside her.“That’s why you are my son, too full of yourself,” she teased, ruffling my hair. I smiled shyly. I was always fond of my mother. She was the best mother in the world. She put my happiness first before hers. She continued wiping off her makeup. “What brings you to my room, son?” she asked, putting down the wipe and facing me.“Uh, I want to ask you something,” I said, scratching the back of my neck.“Anything for my son,” she smiled, facing back to the mirror. She took her cleanser and began cleansing her face.“Where is Muriel?” I queried straight forward. She looked at me abruptly like I had just said the dumbest word ever heard. She continued staring at me like that. “Come on, Mother,” why are you looking at me like that?”“Because you are asking the craziest question I have ever heard,” she declared and focused back on her night routine.“I just want to see her. I want to see how you transformed her for my sake. There will be no pain without mockery,” I stated. She looked back at me. She narrowed her eyes in suspicion. I kept a straight face. Besides, my intentions were right.“Fine, she is in the dungeon,” she specified.“Really? I knew you would always have my back,” I laughed.“Any day, son,” she smiled and continued her routine.“Love you, Mother,” I said and turned to leave.“Not as much as I love you,” she declared. I smiled and went out.I headed to the dungeon at once. Can’t wait to see the painful eyes of Muriel. I reached the dungeon and saw Grey, standing vigilantly mighty, towering over me.“Hello, Grey,” I greeted. I stood in his front like a dwarf in the presence of a giant. He looked down at me.“What brings you here, Lucian?” Grey queried, his voice husky and terrifying.“I want to see Muriel,” I declared. I was next in line to become an Alpha, everyone must obey me. Grey looked at me for a while, forcing my gaze down to the floor.“Follow me,” he said and turned away, walking to a dungeon barrier. He opened the heavy lock and we entered. He opened another lock and I saw Muriel, she was seated curled up on the floor. She looked wretched, that’s what she is though.~Muriel~I shuddered upon seeing Lucian and Grey. Though Grey hasn’t been mistreating me, the place alone kills me. The creepy rats that bother my sleep, the mosquitoes, the cold, and the eerie darkness that prevents me from sleeping peacefully. I gathered my miserable self and stood up, staggering back to the wall.“Can you leave us alone?” Lucian said, facing Grey. Grey stood mute for a moment before turning and left. I watched the smirk on Lucian’s face with a pang in my heart. I wonder what I ever do to him that requires him to punish me like this. He moved closer, scanning me from head to toe in derision.“What are you doing here?” I queried in a shaky voice, not because I was scared of him, but because I was scared of the prank he would pull up next.He burst into laughter, holding his stomach and almost rolling on the floor to laugh harder. I stared speechless at him. Mockery isn’t the worst punishment for me.“Oh, my God, look at you, Muriel,” he mocked and stopped laughing. “I can’t believe I’m seeing you. Whoa! I’m a great planner,” he teased and chuckled.“I knew it was you,” I said, wearing back my confidence. “You took my mathematics textbook and gave it to Harley just to implicate me. What more should I be expecting from you, Lucian?” I stated boldly. He stared at me without a word, anger fueling in his eyes.“I want you to beg me,” he declared. “I want you to go down on your knees and beg me because you are a wretched Omega,” he scorned.“I will rather die than ever beg you, Lucian. Let’s see how many pranks you are going to pull to drag me down on my knees. Yes, you are the Alpha’s son, but you are a dumb pupil. You just can’t accept the fact that I’m more intelligent than you are, and also in the same school as you. I am an Omega with great IQ, the earlier you accept that the better,” I confronted. He clenched his fists.“Augh!” he groaned and pushed me back to the wall. “I am going to make you pay for every word you just said to me, mark my word, wretched Omega,” he sneered and turned to leave. I slid down the wall, crying helplessly. What if my parents were alive, would they allow me to undergo such torture?***I was already feeling sleepy. I have been yawning a million times now. I looked at Russell, he smiled at me. By this time, we were both lying face up. “I want to sleep,” I told him and yawned again. He propped up an elbow, looking at me.“I know,” he said. “Go on, close your eyes and I will watch you sleep.”I raised an eyebrow in surprise. “Don’t you sleep?” I queried.“Not when you’re awake,” he declared and I smiled. He kissed my forehead and I smiled, turning on my side. He lay down too, I crossed my arm over his chest and closed my eyes to sleep.~Russell~I watched Muriel sleep beautifully. She must really be a strong lady to have gone through all that. Her mother was right. Her eyes indeed attracted a demon, and luckily she turned out to be my mate. Henceforth, I won’t let her undergo such torture again. As for Lucian, having Muriel as his Luna is only a dream that will never come through. Muriel is mine and mine alone. With that, I closed my eyes. Since she came into my li
~Muriel~I returned to the bedroom after changing into my dress when suddenly someone hugged me from behind.“Uggggg!” I gasped as his hand snaked around my neck sending electric pulses through my skin. Then his sweet fragrance filled my nostrils.“It’s me, sweetheart,” he said. I sighed and turned around in his arms, facing him. He leaned against the wall with his arms still wrapped around my body.“You scared me,” I let out sadly.“I’m sorry,” he apologized softly. “What happened to you, why were you so angry?” he asked and I pulled away from him, walking back to the bed. “Did he hurt you?” he queried, walking behind me. I dropped on the bed, my shoulders deflated. He sat beside me and draped his hand across my shoulders.“Talk to me, sweetheart, what did he do to you?” Russell asked again.“It’s nothing. The Beta made me remember my past earlier. I don’t know what they think I am, all they want is to make me perform a
The bad news that hit me after a few days in the dungeon was worse than heartbreak. I overheard Grey telling one of the soldiers to take care of the dungeon while he went with other soldiers to Alpha Desmond’s funeral. It felt my heart was pulled out of me, flung to the floor and I was stabbed continuously. My legs failed me, I fell to the floor. I could neither speak nor cry, I just sat dumbstruck. I lost a father again. After my father died, I prayed I never lose anyone as dear to my heart as him. Then my mother followed and I felt my world shattering before me. Alpha Desmond took pity on me and made me stay with Harley, not knowing she would be my worst nightmare. And now, I lost him, I lost Alpha Desmond, the only man who showed me love even as an Omega. What will become of me then? Why won’t death just come and take me away? Why was it snatching my loved ones from me?“Nooooo!” I let out a deafening scream that shook the wall around me. Tears rushed down my cheeks and
It was a full moon today. My fifteenth birthday. I have been waiting anxiously for this day. I get constant pangs in my heart when I think about shifting for the first time. Omega Linda has been training me on how to control my wolf when I finally change. She also never forgot to tell me how painful it would be, that part disturbed me a lot. Now it’s my birthday. I paced up and down in the living room, Luna Glenda had sent for Omega Linda earlier. I wonder why she summoned her on such an agitated day. Jennifer hasn’t returned from the pack house yet. She always tells me about how she felt when she shifted for the first time.“It’s going to hurt, like really hurt. It burns like fire. You will feel your bones cracking, shooting out like a new plant forming branches. It will feel as if you are on fire and someone is cutting your skin with a knife, opening your system for the fire to consume you more. How does that sound?” Jennifer always intimidated me. Her words normally leav
***Russell left after I stopped my story there. In the morning, I was woken up by Jennifer. I sat up, yawning with my arms grazing the ceiling.“Good morning, my lady,” Jennifer smiled at me.“Ugh!” I grunted, frowning at her. “Stop calling me my lady, Jenny. You are even older than me,” I declared, feeling disgruntled.“I’m sorry,” she apologized, dropping her head. I stood up and moved to her, putting my hands on her shoulders.“Don’t apologize, Jenny. Okay, let’s do it this way, when we are together like this without Lucian, you can call my name. And if you deem it necessary to call me my lady in the presence of Lucian, then it's fine,” I stated and she smiled. I sat on the bed.“Thank you, Muriel. I came as early as possible to get you ready for today,” she said excitedly.“And what’s today?” I asked uninterested and she sat beside me.“Today is the day you are meant to meet all the soldiers and choose the
***“Hey!” a voice made me shudder and I opened my eyes. I sat up and looked behind me, seeing Gamma Graves. He moved to my side and sat beside me.“Why are you here?” I queried with a frown.“I came to talk to you, Muriel,” he said softly.“If it’s about Lucian and the so-called fighting contest for me to choose bodyguards, I will imply you not to waste your time,” I set forth and stood up, turning to leave the garden.“Wait!” Gamma Graves said, halting me in my tracks, and stood up. I looked at him, the frown of displeasure never wearing off. I folded my arms across my chest. “I know you are pained for all Lucian did to you, but can’t you forgive him? He is sorry, he loves you now. What do you want him to do to prove to you that he is truly sorry for everything?” Gamma Graves stated.“You won’t understand,” I declared and turned to go again.“Then make me understand, Muriel. Why can’t you forgive him?”“Becaus
After having lunch, I relaxed on the bed with Jennifer beside me. She was so eager to hear the story of how I encountered Russell. I sighed and began. “It all began on my birthday when I jumped into the river to commit suicide,” my voice trailed off as I did a flashback to the scene.***I regained consciousness in a room. Not seen anything like it before. My head was throbbing like two metals clacking each other. I held my head as I slowly sat up on the bed, a comfy royal-like or maybe, a royal bed. I slowly stood up from the bed, looking around the room. I was intrigued by its décor. A bedroom fit for a king or queen. The room was vast, with high ceilings that seemed to reach for the heavens, adorned with intricate moldings and decorative plasterwork, making the space feel even more regal. The color scheme exuded richness and grandeur, as deep hues of crimson and gold dominated the walls, drapes, and bedding, creating an atmosphere of opulence. In one corner of t
Russell didn’t return throughout the day. A maid brought me dinner at dinnertime. I was wondering where he went. I rested on the bed, facing the ceiling that was pulling me to heaven.“What did I say wrong?” I thought to myself. “Was it Mateo and Emery that made him abandon me here all day?” Just then, the door opened with Emery dashing in. She walked with anger and derision. Her footsteps echoed around the room like a mighty warrior stomping. I sprang up from the bed.“Hey, you!” she snarled, moving closer to me. “Where is that fu*king bloodsucker mate less Russell?” she questioned with her eyes searching across the room.“Why are you looking for him with such a badmouth?” I asked calmly.“Who the hell are you to question me? People like you are nothing but cheap tramp, you got no right to talk back at me, Emery Thomas. What gave you the guts?” Emery snapped, burning down with fume. I crossed my arms and smirked.“That made you
