CHAPTER TWO

I woke up with a jolt from a weird nightmare. My forehead covered in beaded sweat and my armpits tingly from the sensation of the nightmare. My heart was beating fast and my head was pounding loudly with a headache.

In the nightmare I had, there was a strange person who told me I would get a second chance. I couldn't see the face or the structure but I heard the beautiful and charming voice. The cold and vicious eyes of Leo from my nightmare still haunt me as I leave my bed. I looked around and noticed I was in my room. Few minutes ago, I thought I had died.

But Leo…could he really do what I had seen him do in my nightmare?

I rinsed my face and left my room to go find Leo but as my luck was almost over, I had to run into Sunny of all people.

With her taunting look and short brunette hair, she glared at me. "You suddenly arrive, sleep a little and now you want to leave. Dennis sweetie, I get that you don't have a mother to teach you manners but that doesn't mean you should turn this house into a motel. What do you want people to say?"

Sunny has always been like this. She would pretend to be sweet to me in front of anyone but once it was just us two, she would become more vicious than normal. Her words would hurt like a knife to the heart and her looks made me feel like I walked on pins. But today was different. I glared at her with the same vicious look and watched her take a step back in surprise. Taking a step towards her, I flipped my long blonde hair and asked. "And who said a bastard like you could talk to me?"

Her eyes went wide and she glared at me. I walked past her but she grabbed my hair. "Repeat what you said you fool..what do you mean by that." She asked, obviously offended.

Smirking, I grabbed her hand and tried to free my hair from her clutches. "Let go before I turn around." It was a warning before I yanked her hand off and glared at her. Her face reminded me of the terrible things she said in my nightmare and it made me angrier. Without thinking twice, I raised my hand and gave her a slap making her stagger on her feet. Hissing at the inconvenience, I immediately left the house.

Taking the car and driving to Leo's house in hope of finding comfort in his arms like I always do. I found Leo standing outside their house and talking to someone on the phone. Once he saw me, he gave me a bright smile and immediately hang up.

"I missed you." He says, patting my head.

I snuggled into his arms which felt slightly strange. I no longer felt comfortable with him but simply went with the flow. It was just a nightmare after all. "I missed you too." Raisingmy head to look into his eyes, the vicious look he gave me came back to my memory and it made me scared. Taking a step back, I started to breathe fast and patted my chest.

He pulled me closer again. "Hey..does looking at me really make your heart flutter that much?" He joked.

I pretended it did and chuckled at his words.

"By the way, have you told your mothers clan to vote for me?"

The conversation felt very familiar to the one I had in my nightmare. He had told me he couldn't do it on his own and needed my help so he could give me a good life.

"You know I can only give you a good life if they vote for me and I am made the next Alpha, hun?"

My thoughts were focused on how the things in the nightmare were slowly starting to happen and so I didn't give him a reply. Being Leo, he got angry and shook my shoulders.

"Hey! Why aren't you replying? Did you tell them or not?" His tone sounded different from the gentle one he uses when talking to me.

I smirked at him and questioned. "Leo, are your feelings for me really genuine?"

He looked shocked and slightly hurt. "Dennis, are you doubting my love for you?"

I immediately felt like I had made mistakes when I saw the look in his eyes. But the nightmare I had brought me to my senses. His eyes didn't have any trace of love in them.

"I am sorry."

He patted my head and began to pull me towards my car. "Come on. I want to visit your father and talk about something with him."

When I said this, I remembered the scene in my nightmare where he had come to speak to my father. I didn't want to dwell on it too much so I relaxed and let him drive.

We soon got to my house but the first person I saw was Madam Janet, my evil stepmother.

"You, why did you slap Sunny? How dare you?" She chided, obviously treating me like I was garbage in my own house.

Sunny stood beside her mother and glanced at Leo before she started to cry. "Sister was so fierce with me. I did nothing wrong."

As I was about to explain, my father appeared and saw Sunny crying. He couldn't stand her tears and didn't even listen to my words. He immediately scolded me. "You are never nice to her. Janet dear, deal with Dennis so she doesn't do this anymore. Leo…" he calls. "..come with me."

I watched their backs as they left me with the two people who hated me the most.

"Go to the kitchen and tidy everything up. Don't forget to make Dinner." Madam Janet said and left.

I remembered this was exactly what happened in my nightmare. I don't want history to repeat itself and so I slipped out through the kitchen door, hoping to find Leo. But what I saw made my eyes go wide and my heart raced.

There was Sunny and Leo, passionately kissing in a corner.
