EvieI cried myself to sleep for the umpteenth night in a row. I've been here longer than Hetty and Eli. I barely remember a time before being here. Sometimes I dream of my mother. Her soft green eyes, framed by her light brown curls. The same eyes I see in the mirror. Her voice, a melody, she calls to me. I don't even remember her name. HonourI hold the pill cup in the palm of our hand and stare at them for a moment. One is a light purple color, one is black, and the third is white with a shimmer to it. HonourEvonleigh sniffs before she starts talking again. "Honour, it's gotten bad. Krauft got really angry after you left. He took it out mostly on Eli. He's been asleep for a couple days now. HonourI became aware again when I heard her voice."She told you her name?"Carla. She's found us. I caught glimpses of what was going on this time. Bits and pieces of conversation. I still couldn't talk to Hetty, but I could observe.I watch as the two men with Carla, they smell strange, come to drag me away. Jess, being the kind and decent human being she is, tried to get them off of me. I had to fight back to protect her.I feel the tingle start, of course, our shifting is all sorts of a mess. I get free and am able to separate Jess from the one holding her back. JessSomeone obviously has had Hetty in their care. The quality of the tag and the encryption on it. She's been in someone's possession, but then why has she been starving? Why is she emaciated, why hasn't she been able to care for herself as she should? She seems scared that someone may be coming for her. LeoI didn't sleep. I stared at the ceiling while my mind raced. What kind of wolf is this? She is docile, yet intelligent. She can write her freaking name! She has a tag already. Is she some kind of hybrid? Not fully wolf, not fully dog? She is big. She could be a wolf crossed with one of those giant dog breeds.
