CHAPTER 002: Morelli University

AGATHA’s P.O.V.

It was early in the morning when I woke up, packing up my stuffs before I could finally leave to enter the most prestigious and mysterious university of all... The Morelli University. Some believe that vampires lurk inside that place, and I am about to find out the truth sooner or later.

I started to wear my dark shirt, before putting on my contact lenses. The moment that I was about to leave the bathroom of my apartment, someone opened up the door. I turned around, facing my boyfriend, Kiel. He looked at me with amusement in his eyes, his mouth slightly parted as he remained standing there, staring straight towards my direction.

“Hey. Good morning,” I greeted him.

“Agatha... You look... Amazing.”

“Thank you. Do you think they are going to notice that I’m a bit... You know, different?” I asked him, facing him through the reflection of the mirror in front of me.

“I don’t think so. You look just like them. And I’m sure that no one will ever notice the difference between you and those people...”

“They are not people, Kiel. They are monsters.”

“It’s not yet confirmed. Though, I would like to ask you one thing...” he started off, before taking a few steps towards me.

“What is it?”

“Are you sure about this?” he asked me, and I took a deep breath before facing him directly this time.

I could feel his intense stare and I knew that he is not slightly disapproving my decision to get inside of that university just to investigate for my suspicions about my parents’ death. Though I couldn’t let him stop me. I can’t afford to lose this one and only opportunity to get my revenge.

“I’ve never been so sure in my whole life, Kiel. This is the only way that I can take revenge upon those who hurt me... And most importantly, find answers about the murders of my parents,” I responded.

“But this is too dangerous, Agatha...” he trailed off, before he tucked the loose strands of my hair behind my ear.

“I know. That is why I’ve been preparing myself for this. I thought you are going to support me in everything?” I questioned him, enough to caught him off guard as he gulped, before slowly nodding upon my direction.

“I do support you. I wanted you to move on from their death and help you get out of that trap. But please, don’t risk your life for it.”

“I am not risking anything. I already lost my life the moment that my parents got killed.”

“That’s different. You have the chance to live again, Agatha. Not this way, please.” His voice sounds like he was begging for me not to do it.

“You know how hard I worked all these years just to get inside of this university, right?” I reminded him.

“I know, I know. Believe me, I knew that. We’ve been together for years and I promised to be with you no matter what... To face anything together. But how can I do that if you will be leaving me on my own? How can I make sure that you are protected if you are out of my sight?”

That question made me stopped for one second. I did promise that we will face this together, no matter what. But how can we do that now that I needed to go and be separated from him for months? I know that I can’t handle it all alone. But I have to do this. For myself, for my family.

“Kiel, please don’t make me choose. Because you know what I’m going to do. That university is the only way that I see in order for me to observe their secret world. And once I found some evidences, I’m going to destroy them all.” My voice was full of anger and despise.

“That’s dangerous...”

“There is nothing more dangerous than killing the parents of a child like me. I won’t allow that to happen again to anyone else... Especially to another innocent child. You see, I am not only doing this just because I want do. I’m doing this because I need to protect others from their cruelty and evil plans.”

He shook his head, as a sign of defeat. He then allowed me to pack my things before taking me to the place where a dark van was about to take me to my doom... Morelli University. When it was finally time to say good bye, he gave me a forehead kiss, before a gentle but sad smile came across of his face.

“Good bye, Agatha. I love you.”

“Good bye, Kiel.”

The moment I sat beside the window of the dark van, I instantly knew that my whole life was about to change. My journey in finding out whom truly killed my parents will finally begin. It was a long, tiring trip. But the moment that we entered the dark forest wherein the roads are gloomy enough to send shivers down to my spine, I began to panic.

“I think this is it,” I whispered to myself.

I can’t clearly remember how I managed to enter this mysterious university. All I know is that I put on too much work to reach where I am today. And I promise myself never to waste all of my efforts during those years of sufferings.

“Ma’am, we are almost there,” the chauffeur stated.

I gave him a cold nod, before the wide, towering gates of the University opened up. The van came inside, and from the window, I saw the other cars parked nearby. Almost every single one of them contained someone, or maybe something, that belongs to this supernatural world. Secrets that I have to unfold over the time.

I thanked the chauffeur without looking into his eyes, before I opened up the door, carrying my luggage as I look around, seeing almost everyone looking the same way as me... Except for the fact that they don’t have to pretend because it seems natural.

“Hi, you are one of the new students here, right?” someone asked, appearing out of nowhere.

The woman was wearing a crimson red cloak, the same color as her eyes. I nodded, before she smiled at me, as if excited to take me in a tour inside of this excluded place.

“Yes. I’m Agatha. Agatha Fate Santillan. And you are?”

“I’m Athena Elyse. One of the students assigned to take the new ones to the dorm. After that, you will get to meet your roommate. She will be the one to take you around this whole place. So, are you excited to meet our own kinds?” she asked, in a seemingly optimistic manner.

“Sure,” I answered, although my mind drifts to the moment when she mentioned her last words.

Athena helped me with my things, before we entered the lobby of a gigantic building designed in a gothic way that no one could ever imagine. I look around the place, amused for one second, not until someone caught my eyes. Someone who look so surreal.

It was a man wearing a black cape, his slightly long, dark hair covering half of his face but the fact of how he walked through the hallways brought me this unexplainable feeling that I never felt before... Even though I haven’t seen his face clearly. I know that there is something to him that made me felt that way. Something charismatic. His aura seems like a magnet, attracting me and pulling me closer towards him. And I knew that if I won’t stop myself from looking, something inevitable might happen to me... Something that I am not yet sure of.
