Welcome To Edgemont Pack

The movers came early and we each got to take one last shower and got into our cars and drove like a small convoy. Carson is in the lead with his essentials in his car. The same was in each car. We packed some of our clothes and of course our bathroom stuff. We divided what has left of food between us also. What meat we had still not cooked I made up and we each had small little meals in our coolers. One was for food and the other for drinks. My idea, I know I am a genius.

The sun was out casting out good vibes for our new beginning. I hoped that Carson's dad would fall in love with my food and allow me to stay. At least for now til I can find somewhere else to work. It would be fun to cook for a pack that big. Though from what I was explained by my friends I would mostly be cooking for the inner circle. No pressure or anything. Only gonna have to dazzle those in charge.

I turned on some music and started my jam. Heaven by Avicii pounded out of my speakers. I saved up money to get the stereo and speakers replaced. Even though my car was older and falling apart a bit it still drove well. From being a throwback to the 90s it was in smart shape.

As the music played I danced in my seat. people stared at me as I drove passed them. Some were annoyed, some appreciated the music, and some laughed at my antics. Hope in me wheeled up that my future could be bright. It was a four-hour drive to the pack.  We made it just over three.

When we pulled up to the packhouse and parking where Carson indicated for us to park we all exited our cars. A group of people rushed out toward us.  I knew the guys were happy to be reunited with their family and friends. Even their packmates whom they were sort of close to seemed to be there.

A tall almost seven-foot man came out of the house. His long strawberry blond hair fell off his shoulders. The man was all muscles and I really wanted to rush over to him and climb on up. His green eyes were filled with joy and happiness as he hugged Carson. Then he sniffed the air. His eyes grew shocked. He must have smelled me just when I smelled him. My mate, my one chance at happiness and family. As our eyes met and Carson introduced us I extended my hand out. Wanting nothing more than to touch him.

He denied me the pleasure of touching him as he welcomed the other two back to the pack and then went back inside. Wait..was I rejected? Numbness filled me. Things I knew as of right now. One of my mate was not just an Alpha but a Pack Alpha to the biggest pack in the US. Two he was my best friend's dad. Three he did not want me. Four I needed to leave.

I got back into my car and let the tears flow out. The passenger door opened and Carson got in pulling me to him. His hands rubbed my back. My car door and the one in the back also were opened as my friends touched me to try to help me fight off the tears.

" What happened, babe?" Carson asked me.

" My mate does not want me. " I sobbed as my chest hurt and breathing was so hard. It felt like my heart was gonna explode with grief.

  " Your mate?" Robbie asked.

" Is it my dad? He was acting weird when I introduced you," Carson asked fear lacing his voice.

I nodded not able to speak as all I could do was cry and attempt to breathe. Spots began to form in my vision and I fight to not pass out.

 " I can't stay Carson," I told him.

" No, you have to now. My dad might have just been shocked. I mean you are young enough to be his son," He joked.

" Give it a month if it does not work out we will all go find a place in town. " Robbie said.

He was talking about one of the small towns that were controlled by the pack. It was nice of them to offer to do that. I had nowhere else to go so I agreed. I only hoped that my mate would change his mind.
