Carla
Carla is sitting in front of the bathroom mirror, wiping the steam from her reflection with one hand and holding the towel up with the other, echoes from today fresh inside her head.
She stood upon the small alter, her soon-to-be Pack standing in front of her, all waiting for the ceremony finale to begin. A Werewolf elder standing beside her, knife in hand. As Carla stared at the full moon as instructed, she held out her hand for the elder as he cut the palm of her hand. His voice booming through the forest air, loud enough for even the Moon Goddess to hear. “We have accepted you as our Alpha, our leader, please recite the sacred promise and accept us as your Pack.”
As the blood trickled to the marble floor, Carla loudly recited the words she had practiced for weeks.
