Moving forward

Helen’s POV

"Thanks a lot for honoring my invitation," Fernando's mother uttered as the three of us stepped into opulent sitting room.

Just like the one at our place, it looked luxurious yet minimalistic.

The dark brown coupled with notes of a creamy pastel color complemented each other really well.

A grand piano was at the right corner of the room, with a black and white picture of Fernando and Roman hung above it

The both of them looked really cute in the picture and couldn't be more than seven and ten years old respectively.

Seeing the picture made me realize how our son had a striking resemblance to him, even though he still had most of my facial features.

You could say Ethan was a perfect blend of Fernando and I.

I wouldn't lie though, the whole atmosphere was so awkward as I shifted my weight from one feet to another.

"It's fine, ma'am," I managed to smile as Ethan tugged at my hand.
