Helen’s POV

Today was finally d-day.

As in the day that the real truth would come to light.

The day I would know if Ethan was getting a step sibling.

And I was more than anxious.

Hell, I was on the verge of a great panic attack as I sat in front of my dresser mirror, my hands clammy with sweat and tremoring with trepidation.

Fernando was currently in the bathroom while Ethan had gone to school.

Roman had traveled back to Italy to work things out with his beloved, two days ago, which meant that I had no one to rant to.

Despite the fact that Fernando had reassured me on multiple occasions that everything would turn out well, I just couldn't help the sinking feeling of uncertainty that had built a home in my heart.

I hated the feeling so much.

I hated feeling so lost and scared like a sick puppy.

Fernando didn't say it but the way he stared at me with so much sadness in his eyes nowadays, made me feel so pathetic.

But I guess I just couldn't help my feelings.
