My smile grew, my heart fluttering in my chest as I let out a contented sigh.

“I think that can be arranged.”

“I can’t believe you caught the bouquet,” Poppy complained as we headed up to our rooms.

“Here, you have it.” I thrust it at her, earning me a round of laughs from the guys.

“No, that’s not—”

“Just take it, babe.” Aaron hugged her close. “We all know I’m going to put a ring on your finger soon anyway.”

“Aaron! You can’t say stuff like that.”

“Why not? It’s true.”

The two of them started bickering so Kaiden and I dropped back a little, giving them space.

“You didn’t have to give that to her, you know.”

“It doesn’t matter.” I shrugged.

The wedding reception had been a blast. I hadn’t expected to enjoy myself quite so much but once Kaiden showed up, it was like everything in my world felt right again. We’d danced and laughed, and I drank one too many glasses of champagne. It felt good, I felt good.

But every step toward our room, the illusion began to slip.
