Chapter 1

The night I was born it was said to be a blood moon the whole pack was anticipating the arrival of the first born alpha heir to the midnight crescent pack. My father was a likeable man very humble and noble, strong and fierce. one who put our pack above all. We were a strong pack of 4000 nearly double the size of the average pack but we were thriving and doing very well for ourselves. His leadership gave us an admirable reputation that most packs inspired and desired to have allowing many alliances with in the shifter world.

When I arrived into the world it was no shock that the leaders of the other super natural fractions came bearing gifts and offering blessings to me. It was not something that was often done between the fractions considering my father was not the shifter fractions leader that title belonged to our bordering neighbour the obsidian pack. although we had many alliances and were beloved among the shifters our relationship with the obsidian pack and alpha Charles was a strained one dating back to our fathers teens so the shifter leader did not come baring gifts or blessings. My mother was alpha Charles infatuation and the one he had often pursed as his mate before coming of age. Alpha Charles was hellbent on my beautiful mother being his mate be it fated or chosen she on the other hand wanted to wait for her faited mate and did not reciprocate the feelings for Charles.

When my mother became of age it so happened to fall on the annual mating ball where young unmated shifters came together for a grand ball in the hopes of finding their mate if their mate wasn’t with in their own pack. That year it just so happened to be held at her pack the obsidian pack yes my mother grew up in a rival pack. Both my parents said they instantly felt the pull towards each other and happily embraced each other. Alpha Charles was not happy about it at all a fight broke out between my father and alpha Charles who swore vengeance and openly cursed my parents to never produce a heir and he would willingly take my mother back when they failed to do.

But here I am while the alpha title usually goes to the male heir I was the only heir so my life from a young age was very sheltered. I was to have a guard with me at all times from as young as I can remember luckily I grew up in the pack house with the beta Will and his mate Maddison’s sons the future beta heirs Colton and Destin. the twins were very much guarded like myself. The three of us were taught from a young age that a big war was on the horizon and we had to train hard inside our little bubble for that day. from a young age we started our future training while warrior training was mandatory for all wolves in our pack the twins and I started at the ripe age of 4 while the rest of the pack started at 10. The tree of us attended the pack school with our guards at our sides throughout the day apart from the normal education we were also privately educated in our future roles as heirs. We were also privately educated on the four other supernatural fractions the vampires, witches and warlocks, elves and the fae including ancient histories and basic magic work.

All of this extra training for our futures left us with very little free time to enjoy the average childhood but Colton, Destin and I were happy and content in each others company anyone would think we were triplets and were often called that by our families and pack members alike. We spent much of our free time in our little secret not so secret spot behind the pack house just past an open field of wild flowers was our piece of forest or as we called our secret spot “the base”. The base was where we could be kids and not have the extra pressures heavily weighed apon us we would build forts and cubbies the maids often had to go to the base to retrieve bedding that we used to make our cubbies. We would play boat races down the flowing stream with leaves and sticks and such. The field use to be where we laid on our backs looking for shapes in the clouds, day dreaming, taking turns to read out loud a novel between each other, picking wild flowers and making flower crowns. It was our little spot to be us a spot for ourselves where we did not have to preform or recite or future duties. Although it was our little space I always had a feeling of being watched when we were in our safe space I can not explain it just this eerily feeling of being watched I had always put down to our parents sending guards to watch over us out of sight but that feeling never lost when we were at the base.

My dear Colton he was the kind caring sweet loving person of the trio Destin on the other hand was the fire cracker always wanting to be mischievous but that crooked smile of his always had me agreeing to his shenanigans when I really did not want to it was always hard to say no to that cheeky smile of his. I was I would say the free spirit a mixture of both Colton and Destin I think that is why the three of us got along so well.
